Questions on PowerHead volume/cab interaction/Power Amp Boost/output levels

  • I have an 8ohm Matrix FR12P passive speaker which is 250w RMS continuous and 500w peak. How loud can I risk pushing the Kemper PowerHead? It will spit out 600w at 8ohms so, my understand is that, I presume I need to avoid continuously pushing out more than around 40% volume? Is this correct?

Next thing that puzzles me is Power Amp Boost. If the PowerHead on full is 300w/600w dependent on impedance, how does the Power Amp Boost work? Does it push it harder somehow? I understand that it's transparent.

I asked about this in the Private Forum but there seems to be more action out here in public, so trying again. I have read the manual and still cannot wrap my head around Power Amp Boost or roughly where on the scale of volume I can take the PowerHead to without damaging my speaker.

I'm learning but slowly. So much to take in!
