Anyone here want to try a Friedman profile with their pickups and give feedback?

If you want a warmer sound, go with Alnico II. If you would like a brighter tone, Alnico V. You may also want to try this dead easy mod, 50's wiring.

I use it on my Standard with Alnico II pickups and it sounds glorious. You can work the volume and tone without creating mud. It's a new world that I wish I had known about years ago.
I have 4 Les Pauls, all with different pickups. BB, 57 classic (very good), but I will go out on a limb and recommend trying these.

Good price and they have replaced the pickups on 2 of my Gibsons. I also have a unpotted set, which sounds great at low volume, but if you get anything cranking, will squeal. The unpotted set are my go to clean sound. Honestly, I like the GFS pickups better than the Seymour and Dimarzio's I have tried (mostly their mid priced lines).

Would be great if we could get a lot of different examples.

Cheers mate. I don't record or use much of a computer. I may give a try one of these days in between changing panties and houseworks

I can't agree more with ElDoca and RookGarner. WCR, Jim Wagner, pickups are fantastic. I put a Darkburst (bridge) / Godwood (neck) in a cheap Kramer and they sounded amazing, but I had to take that set out since the neck wasn't comfortable after long playing periods. I took that same set and put them in a Schecter (Gibson style) that already sounded good with proper Seymour Duncans (I think it was and SH-4 in the bridge and JB in the neck)... and the guitar came alive even more.
I recently got a set of Icebuckers and put them in a Schecter flying V - same story. Old EMGs sound flat and soulless compared to the tone and warmth, even out of these high-output metal pickups. -

Sounds enticing!Would be awesome if you have the time to throw up a couple examples!
