Pretty cool, still seems naughty... not sure why.

The KPA sounds very close to the Axe sound. Ironic though, that we are listening to a profile of a model of an amp.
But although the Axe sound is damn good to start with, what happens on the KPA if I want to modify the profile? How well does it hold up when you want to create a newer "alternate" version of a profile?
I ask this because I work with producers who like to ask for more or less of this or that, so I often create "versions" of a sound for use in a track.

When you start modifying the Profile that's when the 'magic' begins.
If you walked into the studio with the KPA still in an unopened box, and never used, I'm betting your first recording session with the producer/engineer will amaze both of you.
Within 10 minutes you'll be recording using a Profile of an amp you thought you'd never use, and chances are you'll hardly tweak a knob.
When you listen back you'll be amazed at how it sits in the mix and how pristine the audio quality is.
It will only get better as you work your way through the Profiles, find your favourites and refine them to your taste.If I'm wrong please feel free to come back here and tell me..."You're fired".

The range off all parameter controls is far beyond what we are used to from real amps and other digital gear (with the exception of the Axe-Fx, TBH). When you move a knob the sound change immediately. Tweaking is quick, easy and damn effective. The EQ fx (Graphic and Studio) are very efficient and is question of a few seconds to fit any sound in to a mix.

Poor Keith, trapped in a web of irrational Axe fans

Well, I may be wrong here, but I can hardly see a producer missing the Axe. Not because it sounds bad, but just because, with almost 2,000 profiles of real tube amps available, what's the need for adding a modeller to the palette? Specially with all the tricks you can make in studio (EQ-match, overlying tracks & the like). Unless, of course, a producer wants to sound "Axe". But then, why not using a real one?
I know, colours are never enough, but...

Another feature not many Kemper users think about is that it can also make amp profiles with eq tone match from a recorded guitar track or song by placing an eq match plugin like Ozone last in the signal chain.
GUITAR -> KPA -> AMP -> CAB -> MIC -> DAW -> PLUGIN -> KPA Return.
Here is a thread by tylerhb with a guide and clips for those who have missed it.
classic metal tones done with EQ matchingIt would be great if Ola and other users would profile their previously recorded amp guitar tracks using this profile method.

....I must be dumb...with litterally 100s of amps profiled (real ones) what is the interest of profiling a modeler emulating an amp with a plugin trying to make it sound like a mastered track in a digital format....
As said, maybe is just me too old school... -

As said, maybe is just me too old school...With this method you profile a real amp like usual (not a modeler),
and add an eq tone match plugin in the signal chain.
That way the eq of recorded tracks are copied and added with the real amp profile.
GUITAR -> KPA -> AMP -> CAB -> MIC -> DAW -> PLUGIN -> KPA Return.
Great for copying previously recorded guitar tones.
Check out the tylerhb link with some great sound clips.

Ok, got it. Being the thread on profiling the Axe I have assumed (read very quick the previous post, sorry) that the proposal was to profile the AFX + Ozone.
I think I need some holiday, 16-18 h/day at work in the last weeks... -
I have to agree... and the "need a cofee" sign appeared more times than expected lately in your posts... time for a break! Come to Rome... and don't forget your Space Toaster

Sure! This one being one of the most famous (you shall join the cue at any time of the day...).
Anyone is invited to come and test it! I'm also a member of Couchsurfing, so hosting is a sort of second nature for me
