Output to audio interface issues

  • Hello there,

I'm a novice to digital recording. I just got my kemper and I am having issues getting sound to both my monitors. I have the Line 6 UX2 interface and currently have a 1/4 stereo cable going from the monitor (out) in the kemper into stereo monitor (in) on the UX2. There is sound coming from the left monitor only. I have switched the settings to master mono in the output settings. The UX2 only have a S/PDIF digital out. I want to be able to record direct into my DAW.

    Will I need a new interface with a S/PDIF digital in/out?

    Thanks for the help!

  • The monitor out on the KPA is mono. You'll want to use the main outs for stereo, with a splitter cable to go from two 1/4" mono phone plugs to a stereo phone plug to get you plugged in to your interface.

  • Use the Main Outs L/R > UX2 Line Inputs (make sure these are set to line for input) L/R the S/PDIF out to your computer. That will get you into the DAW. And Welcome to the forums!!

  • Thank you for the replies.

Will I need a S/PDIR cable to record into my DAW, or can I use the splitter cable that goes into stereo monitor in on the UX2?
