New used Kemper Profiler + Remote... can't get the looper to work

    I just bought this setup used recently but unfortunately didn't test the looping functions. It does record and stop loops when I press the main button, but I can't get any of the options to work with 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5. So I can't stop the loop from playing, which drove me nuts for a while! I wouldn't even mind that much if the other functions were broken but... not being able to stop playback?! I tried both long-pressing "2" and pressing it 3 times in a row.

    Anything I can do? I'm thinking a factory reset...

    It's on a firmware from June 27 2022.

    Edit: Factory reset seems to have done the job. Now I'm hoping it stay this way once I figure out how to put everything back on...!

    There is no such software issue and if the Rig Buttons perform their normal tasks loading Rigs, they cannot be broken just for their looper related tasks.


    I suspect the former owner has reassigned the LOOPER button. Normally it doesn't start or stop any loops. Its only purpose is the switch the function of the Rig Buttons 1-5 between their normal Rig loading tasks and their specific tasks for the looper.


    Check on page Remote Settings sub-page Button Assignments within System Settings, if the Looper button has been assigned to "Looper Start" instead of "Looper Mode".


    Perhaps this is an indication to perform a complete Factory Reset. Current OS versions offer this on the first page of System Settings. You need to hold the button for a moment and the follow instructions. You might want to perform a PROFILER backup upfront.
