Using Kemper as a mic preamp

  • Hi guys. I’m doing some recording through my interface into my DAW and was finally getting round to doing some vocals and claps and other overdub things.

Of course I need a mic preamp but I was wondering if my Kemper could actually be used to preamp the mic signal and maybe even EQ the signal as I record (would otherwise try EQ in post via plugins).

Any help would be greatly appreciated;)

  • I took this out of the main manual.

you could use the PROFILER as an audio interface for external signal sources such as a microphone.

For this application, set Record Source (Rec. Source) to “Return Inputs” on the PROFILER Head and Rack to feed the signals of the RETURN to channel USB 1, and the ALTERNATIVE IN to USB 2. Stage users should set either 1+2 Source or 3+4 Source to “Return Inputs” and feed the signals of RETURN 1 and 2 to their DAW.

I heard that you can actually profile neve and other expensive preamps and use them in your recordings.
