Kemper Stage and Apollo Twin X via SPDIF

  • I know there have been similar threads about this but I haven't been able to find a conclusive answer. My mission is simple - rather than running the Kemper via Main (Kemper) > Line In (Apollo), I would like to go via SPDIF (Kemper) > Optical In (Apollo). To achieve this, I thought this product would do: https://amzn.eu/d/fmNaZ7M

I can confirm: it doesn't work.

Can anyone recommend a cable or adapter that will work for me to run the Kemper on the Apollo Twin X via SPDIF?

    Thanks a lot everyone!

  • No that is the wrong product for that. You need something like this:

    https://www.amazon.de/-/en/King-Converter-Audio-Digital-Toslink/dp/B01ET10M26

    Kemper PowerRack |Kemper Stage| Rivera 4x12 V30 cab | Yamaha DXR10 pair | UA Apollo Twin Duo | Adam A7X | Cubase DAW
Fender Telecaster 62 re-issue chambered mahogany | Kramer! (1988 or so...) | Gibson Les Paul R7 | Fender Stratocaster HBS-1 Classic Relic Custom Shop | LTD EC-1000 Evertune | 1988 Desert Yellow JEM

  • I have a powered toaster and an Apollo Twin X. I would like to use the SPDIF input for recording, but the level from the Kemper via spdif is very low.

Kemper : Apollo Twin via spdif using inexpensive converter from amazon

Apollo : Mac mini via thunderbolt

    DAW - Logic Pro

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks, Ralph

  • By level, do you mean the volume? Have you compared to analog? I.e. is it considerably lower than analog?

  • I have exactly that setup and my levels are fine, did you check the Apollo spdif fader on the UA software and the spdif output in the output section of the KPA?
