I am using the RCF NX 12SMA at home now. I don't think you will be disappointed if you get one. It sounds great even at low volume.
Might take the plunge: RCF NX 12SMA

I use a pair of these as headphones. I hardly notice the impedance mismatch. In fact I don't notice much at all anymore...
-
After reading all the stories about the RCF, i'm not sure what would be the best option for me. I'm leaning towards a blue amp CF, also a FRFR, but for that price i could get a RCF NX 10SMA.What BlueAmp? You talking about the Camper CX? But what price? We didn't tell anyone a price because we don't know it yet.

This depends a lot on
- what sound you do (drop down 7 string metal or telly country chickin pickin or ...) i.e. how loud you plan and how much low end punch you expect at loud levels.
- and, even more important, if you want to use it as monitor (in front of you, facing away from the audience) or a real projection into the room without PA (behind you, like a traditional guitar amp).
+1

Well guys, is a matter of taste, off course, but if you're looking for amp "feel" I would seriously consider the Camper. I have the NX-12sma and (to me) the Camper fills the gap between FRFR flexibility and the amp-behind-you-flapping-your-legs feel. My RCF is going as soon as I get my Green Box....

What is the weight of the Camper?
-
I hope you get it this week. I'm waiting for a very little piece of it.
By the way: The Camper 112 and 212 are flat response but not full range. It cuts above 10 kHz. So no chance to FIZZZZ ( that's the sound some monitors and PAs do) but also no acoustic guitar.

The weight of the Camper 112 CX will be round about 17-18 kg.

lol
This remembers me of a guy at a concert who spent all the time in front of a rack of 20"-ish woofers. He enjoyed switching his lighter on, and proudly showed people how fun was when the woofer put the flame out...

Wow, I had not realized you were at this stage...

You told me the price in another post.
I mainly play blues/rock and acoustic.
My guitars are a fender strat, epiphone Les paul, Ibanez s1xvv, Epiphone sg-400 and a couple of acoustics (fishman presys system).
All 6 strings.I play mainly in my studio, i do not gig electric, only acoustic. Therefor i have a Roland AC60. But recently also use the KPA for that (love the Fishman piezo profile).
My outputs for electric are my monitors (5", not so good sound) or through my old power amp (mesa boogie 50/50) with 2 rocktron cabs.
And altho the sound is good, its only good around a decent volume and it colors the sound allot. As i already stated a couple of times. I want something that i can play at my studio without blowing up my eardrums or waking all my neighbours. (i'm not a professional, so everything is at home).
So i was thinking a FRFR solution would suit me best. I could play it at lower volume and still regain the sound qualities.
But choosing one is not that easy, atomic? RCF? FBT? And then if so wait for the CLR? RCF gets good reviews, but not cheap. FBT also gets good reviews and a bit cheaper. Or the blue amp (the FRFR one). Or any other FRFR.
I have an old floor monitor (thoman the box mka2 120w) according to the specs its 60-20Khz. But the KPA attached to it sounds really bad, allot of the warmth is missing. Will a true FRFR be better sound than this? It's a bit much and every forum you read you get other views from different persons.
It's not that i can go to my music store and ask for all of them to test (unfortunately).
So i'm still reading, changing things around at home to try to get a decent sound through my monitors and play mainly now through my dt 770 pro headphones
Hope this clears everything up of what i want. I still have allot of questions on the whole amp or FRFR thing and trying to puzzle my way through everything before i buy.
My wife looks at my funny as it is with all the recent gear i acquiredWhat BlueAmp? You talking about the Camper CX? But what price? We didn't tell anyone a price because we don't know it yet.

EDIT: Okay, we´re talking about the BlueAmps 212 FR-A, the upcoming active version of BlueAmps 212 FR

It's a bit hard keeping all the names separate
I love the design and looks of the thing, much more like a real amp then a mere floorwedge.
RCF is a bit more expensive, but i could get 2 FBT 10MA's for that price.
As you can see its hard to chose, especially when you cant hear anything. How far are you with the video you where gone make?
-
The video is done and I have to cut and compress it within the next days.
-
Can't wait to see it. I'm very interested in one of your solutions in the new year.

Link doesn't work....

Nevermind, I thought it was a link to an rcf video, not the blue Amps video.
