when i was browsing through some threads i read multiple times, that some people here are using the Line6 G10 wireless transmitter.

My music dealer around the corner just posted a warning that there is a fire hazard for the Relay G10, Relay G10S, and Relay G10T wireless products purchased prior to March 2020.

    They need to be updated!

    Stay safe!

In your first post, you copied the video description and youtube changed the link so it looks like this:

    Code
    https://www.youtube.com/redirect?event=video_description&redir_token=QUFFLUhqbDd1a2JBY2MzbldFYW1ZdHpqWlcwUFBudWtuUXxBQ3Jtc0tuV01yeU1oeU5pdFlTNzZmcWJ6T1F6eFgtZE9hbzFsRnBJRUU3VUFQYUlBNW1uMHN3R0lsVl9fQ0VEWFFaeUM1LUE0OU04cmZ1U19qNkFKS05FS1o4bC1VbGVoYkxwdzdXTWtvbWhSSkFpV3ZaMENoZw&q=https%3A%2F%2Famzn.to%2F3dmKNFU

    But nice work anyway.

maybe just change it to this:

Vogels/Vonet wifi access point Amazon UK - https://amzn.to/3dmKNFU
    Amazon US -
    https://amzn.to/36aq04t

    TP-Link Switch with Power

    Amazon UK - https://amzn.to/36aqpnv
    Amazon US -
    https://amzn.to/3h1QuLI

Power adapter to use one cable for kemper and router

    Amazon UK - https://amzn.to/3qsyTj4

    It sounds really good!

When i read the description i was not hooked at first, just because i'm not a hairmetal-player (more punkrock things) , but then i gave it a try, dialed the gain down a little bit and it works great. I need to give it a try at rehearsals.

Maybe just describe it a little bit more. To me it sound a little bit like a JCM800 with a tubescreamer in front of it (or a different voiced Silver Jubilee?).

And it's really hard to find any information about the cameron amps.

Looking forward to more amps :)

How long are the cables? The Rack version doesn't have a USB port on the backside...

Keep in mind that that this is an editor, not rig manager. I don't believe (someone can correct me) that you can store all the rigs and performances and presets you don't want on your kemper in this app. And never a bad idea to check with the wife before a big purchase. Marriage problems ain't cheap either and are vastly more inconvenient than any convenience an editor would bring!

you can’t store any rigs or effects in the app right now. There is some built in stuff, but it’s very limited right now. It’s still version 1.0 so I’m sure there is more to come.

It would be interesting to learn the reason(s) why the USB port(s) weren't chosen to add wireless to the legacy models. There must be a practical reason given the fact that USB adapters for Wifi and Bluetooth are easily obtained.

You would need to write drivers to make the USB-Port with the rest of the Hardware. There literally hundreds of different WiFi-Sticks.

USB doesn't give you a lot of power. If you want your Remote to be connected, it's going to be hard to find a combo that works with USB power only (if at all). and "works" means works reliably. With such a setup, there is more ethernet cable involved than with just a remote cable. And that again influences the power consumption. The USB port on your Profiler is designed to power an USB stick, maybe a drive but it shouldn't be used for other things. That includes recharging your phone.

I'm aware that USB doesn't supply enough power (but I'm spoiled with USB-C nowadays of course). And as I mentioned, I'm happy with the solution I built myself. I don't care if there is one more power cable in the back and i don't need the remote. I just wanted to give feedback, that this router does its job.

So, the tp-link TL-WR902AC (https://www.tp-link.com/de/hom…g/wifi-router/tl-wr902ac/) arrived and here is some feedback:

    it works.

    just kidding... here's more:

First, the only "negative" point: It need's a seperate power supply (is included in the package, but i was hoping to power it with the profiler USB-port).

The setup was pretty easy. There are 2 modes relevant for me.

    1. "Client mode". the tp-link connects to my home wifi network and the profiler is connected via ethernet cable and my profiler rack is wireless now! It's also working in the 5GHz-range.

    2. "Hotspot mode". the router creates it's own wifi and SSIDs. so you can use the ipad on the road.

It's exactly what i was looking for and it's roughly 30€ only.

This is of course without the possibility to use the remote. But I'm just using the 2way switch, so it doesn't bother me.

My ipad air only only has os12 any chance of a version that works with older ipads thanks

I'm not a developer but since v13 iPads use iPadOS and not iOS. So I don't think, there will be an backwards compatibility.

And on the other hand: Hardware that uses iOS 12 is over 7 years old and will not get any security updates any more. So I wouldn't recommend to use it anyway.

I think you have a valid point.

Kemper had a different target audience when they launched the Profiler: (Semi-)Professionals who want an exact copy of their equipment and then tweak the s**t out of it.

In my eyes that's also the point why there is no touchscreen and other "modern" stuff. It's not reliable for the road. And when the Profiler development started (before 2010 for sure ;) ) the iphone wasn't even released and touchscreen were really shitty to be honest. And you usually don't change the whole design a few years into development...

Neural (in my eyes) is coming from software plugins and modelling. That's why they were focussing to develop a modern UI and use touch screen (which are way cheaper today). And i'm pretty sure, that their development started much later then the Profiler :)

ckemper wrote a few pages back here something interesting about this:

    Neural Quad Cortex

    Quote

When Profiling was developed, we have decided to give it an interactive aspect. That is, the user is asked to refine the Profile if needed by playing his guitar dynamics and the machine listens to it.

While we saw the interactive profiling and the amp parameters as a chance for achieving the best profiling results, it now seems to be a burden for those that have a different dedication.

Maybe it's time to rethink our approach.

Ich würde empfehlen den Monitor-Output zu nehmen. Also Monitor Out -> Endstufe -> Cabinet.

Something interesting for the "nerds"/IT-people here:
NeuralPi is a guitar pedal using neural networks to emulate real amps and pedals on a Raspberry Pi 4.

I don't have any spare raspberry at the moment, but I would love to play with it soon.

this is exactly what people descripe as "dual profiles", "2 profiles merged as one" or stuff like that.

But there is always a workaround. In a studio situation you would record a DI-Track and then reamp it on two tracks with two profiles or record it a second time with a different profile to double the track.

(What Tonejunkie and others are doing, is mixing two microphone signals from two different amps into one stereo track.)
