Hello & welcome to Amp heaven
-
Hello
I had the same experience as you having owned both products, kept the Kemper cashed out on the Axe.
-
We are not trying to do a A/B comparison when we do a profile with the Amp in the room
we want to have the reference mute when we check the profile the Kemper just made.I have had very good sucsess doing profiles this way, just maybe a bit more trial and error time to get it.
Sometime the profile even sounds better then the reference.
I don't always need a perfect match.
-
Good base for dirty pedals or rhythm.
One has the Vintage 30 the other a G12H heritage.
I don't know witch is witch. -
I don't understand why we cant have the reference amp muted when the Kemper profile is selected,
it mutes the profile when you select the reference Amp.
It would still work for A/B,you would select A to hear only A then B to hear only B.
I believe the majority of us owning a kemper will be profiling in a non studio environment.Of course there are simple manual solutions one of witch would be be the use of a A/B box on the direct out cable to the amp A /no amp B.

I'm glad I check you rigs out.

Their not posted in the exchange.

Hello
Welcome to Amp heaven.

Hello welcome
Sweet collection of Amps

I have some back ground in sound engineering from the late 70s.
Really now I'm just a guy on a quest for tone
I'm going to have to check out that AFD profile you did, sounded great in the demo.
-
Hi!
I love your profile, and I get amazing results with clean tones. However, when I try to add some dirt ("Muffin" a'la Gilmour for example) for some reason even with the lowest settings things start to sound very harsh and "brutal", I can't get the nice smooth overdriven tone that I was expecting. The Pure Booster doesn't even clip the "preamp", and anything harder just clips it way too much. What do you suggest?
Cheers anyways, because the cleans sound absolutely, totally, 100% Gilmour, the first time in my life that I was finally able to dial in a really authentic Run Like Hell toneI will be trying later today to get Gilmour's dirty sound but here what I have found to work on other profiles that were harsh or fizzy.
Go into the amp section and play with the definition, clarity and compressor settings.
Maybe starting with lower Definition setting then higher Clarity.Hope we can find the tone

Enjoyed your demo's, so what guitars did you use on them?
-
I now have no regrets for having sold my 72 Hiwatt 6 months ago
Thank you
Thank you
Thank youThis Profileing thing is so cool.
-
I like the clean sound after backing off the gain.
The Distortion sound is to fizzy to my liking.
I was excited to check out this amp after listening
to all the youtube video demos.
I hope you have a chance to experiment and do more profileing.Ok I made a few changes in the amp settings and I'm loving it.
Here's what help me remove the fizzy I was hearing.
Definition to 2.7 , Compressor 4.1, Clarity 4.3
Change to a 4x12 cab.
Drop the bass bump the treble & presence.
Tuned Playing a strat with AKG K240 head phones.
I will retune with monitors later.
Here my take on this AMP
-
I checked the profile and I had made no change to the volume its at 0.0
Just trying to understand the Magic and how it happens.
-
Sold my 72 6 months ago before I heard about the Kemper.
Hope a profile will fill the loss

Its adds Gain control
Master volume
Effects loop
Midi program ability. In a totally non invasive way
Really helps me get the most out of my old amps.
Thank you Kemper

No ajustments made to the cab settings that I remember.
Also I think the volume setting for cabs has to do with size of the cab not the loudness?
Well the volume doe's looks like it change's the loudness!
I must be thinking of some other piece of equipment. -
Interesting Cabinet profile, I've been doing some profiling of a Marshall plexi with a 4x12
cab and this one cabinet profile seem way louder then any other profileI have done or come across
here on the site. I love it and thought I would share it with you. Please let know if its just a perceived loudness or truely louder then most.
Here is a link to the cab file
