Hit external storage and export all rigs.
It takes a while but in your share folder you will find a "rigs" folder with all you rigs in it when you put the stick back in your computer.
If its not there than there is a problem.....

Yes, there IS some digital aliasing or fold over distortion in the OD/distortion stomp section.
It is of course made even more noticeable when run into a distorted profile.

That said, the actual amp profiles DO NOT have this problem.
I find I do not need the distortion stomps with the gain flexibility with in the amp profile.
So its not a problem for me. I am very sure this issue will be addressed in the future.

For what its worth Boss modelers are FAMOUS for having digital aliasing or fold over distortion even with in their amp models.
So going back to your Boss products is not much of an answer in my eyes.
Profile your Boss unit with the OD/Distortion on and you will have what you want in the Kemper with out the Boss aliasing plus much more tone flexibility.

The freeze at boot may come back so I suggest you back up and reinitialize:

    Erase the internal flash memory

Note: ALL the rigs will be erased during this procedure!!

    • Switch the main knob to off
    • Hold the left/top soft-key above the LCD
    • while still holding this key - switch KPA to tuner
    • Maintenance Module will be started
    • In the 'Maintenance' menu goto 'Memory'
    • Use Memory FormatFlash and InitFlash
    • Check if the KPA works (booting, tuner)
    • Resinstall your rigs
    • Check all the KPA settings

This just came with the new HD firmware.
This profile is great for a dark jazz tone with neck pickup.
Great for bass as well... A studio standard for many years.
Profiled with all controls at 50%.
    Adjust to taste.

“Flip Top” HD Bass Amp Model. Introducing the world’s very first HD bass amp model based on* the immortal Ampeg® B-15NF Portaflex®, one of the most popular studio bass amps of all time. The modeled cab features the original 15-inch speaker perfect for laying down some serious thump.

    Thanks
These are two new amps just added to the HD.
People are liking them and I think they sound good with some EQing and a room added.
I thought people would like to hear them if just for curiosity.

Line 6 released their new 2.02 firmware with new amps.
I profiled the new POD HD 2.02 Plexi amps.(Nrm,Brt)
They were profiled with all controls at 50%, so adjust the tone and volume controls to taste.

    YES, YES, YES
"KPA does an excellent job of profiling other modelers and pre-amps"
I stand by that, its true.
As well as amps mic up.
I am so thrilled with the Kemper I cant believe it.

Many problems with modeling other modeling gear is from user problems.
Noise gates and compressors must be off!
    That includes reverb and effects.
This may sound very obvious to most of us, but I am very sure there are people profiling their gear with effects full on.
This sends the poor Kemper into complete confusion.

I find the Kemper is one of the best tone tool I have owned in 30 years of being a studio musician.
(PS I have owned EVERYTHING else...)
