Any update on Keith Merrow's Pack?
-
I just checked my old fav rigs and there is no more aliasing on them.
Even turning the gain 10 there was no "vowel wah noise?" when bending the 22-24th fret.
Great job guys!

The Kemper is the best thing that ever happened to the Axe-II. It has really pushed Cliff to churn out updates and really refine the amp modeling and tone-matching.
Its a good time to be a guitar player!

Whats this about!
QuoteI just finished that Rig Pack for Kemper Amps. I made about 50 different amp profiles in the past couple days. I settled on 15 of the best ones to send them. It's tones I used on my last EP, YouTube vids, etc. Pretty gnarly high gain tones in there, modeled from the amps/gear I have here in my studio. Fun times! - Keith Merrow

Bought the metal producers pack last night, loving most of the sounds so far. I tend to like the C1 patches better than the others, but there is plenty of usable stuff
My fav so far are the Krank C3s. Try the C2 and C3 patches but swap their cabs for C1's. That way they will be similar to the C1 patches.

Cheers Don! I will give that a try tonight!

I think the studio eq works great for this honestly. I wish the master eqs were like the studio eq.
I really like the studio EQ for when I'm cutting out a lot of bass and hi-end but when I simply want to block frequencies eg: below 80hz and past 11000hz it doesn't work to well for me. For hi-gain it cuts to much of the sound.
I know this can be done easily in your DAW but its nice to have everything in the Kemper.

Can we get a dedicated Hi/Low pass filter in the effect section or even in at the end of the Cab section?
I know you can use the wah hi and low pass but that takes up the two Mod inserts which leaves no room for EQ. I read that the studio EQ uses hi and hi/low shelfs which can be used as filters but they cut way to much out compared to a standard hi/low pass when I use them.
Cheers!

Taken from facebook:
Looks like I'll be doing an official profile pack for Kemper Amps that will include my fav tones and presets. Fun times! - Keith Merrow
Awesome, looks like there will be 2 awesome packs then - Ola Englund
These guys aren't the same style as the guitarists you mentioned but it will still be a great addition.

Wow I was not expecting that. 8 string usually makes me thing 0-1-0-0-1-0- kind of stuff but your chops are amazing and great tone.
The guitar looks great too and I didn't know you could get such a good solo tone from Aftermaths.

I have to say what has been posted there is a myth.
Both controls domnot colour the sound.
Clean Sense has no impact on distorted sounds.
Distortion Sense is the same as readjusting the Gain knob.
Please tell that to everybodyReally? I hope I'm not hearing things because I find they have a massive effect on sound. I'll fire up my Kemper tomorrow and make a sound sample video tweaking the input parameters.

Nice Strandberg! Are the pedals connected in the front input or at the back via the effects loop?

Bareknuckle Alnico Nailbomb Bridge + Coldsweat Neck - Schecter C-1 Custom
Bareknuckle Black Dog Set - Skervesen Raptor 6
Bareknuckle Miracle Man Set - Ibanez Rg1527
Bareknuckle Holy Diver Bridge + Emerald Neck - Schecter Custom Shop 7
EMG 707s - Schecter C-7 HellraiserClean and Distortion sense vary for each guitar aswell as for each profile. I find for hi-gain sounds turning down the clean sense and turning up the distortion sense gives you a clean/tight tone but with a nice saturation that fattens up nicely without getting muddy.
I usually try around 2.5 Clean Sense dialing it back if I want to clear up unwanted noise/mud. I have distortion sense around -1.8 to -2.8 depending on the amount of gain in the profile. A fixed setting for each guitar just doesn't work for me.I'm still getting the basics of the unit but the Input Sense parameters are the most important parts in shaping your tone IMO.

I think its the cabinets that gives the Kemper its 3D full sound. IMO its something that has never been modeled right before and you can really hear this when you try a different effect processor or VST using .wav IRs. Nebula probably comes close or is better but I like having everything in one box at the click of a button.

Sweet!!! I love Andy's Clean studio pack.

Hey, I want to use my Maxon OD808 through the effects loop and I'm not sure if I'm doing it right.
I don't like using it beforehand because I like how the clean and distortion sense shape your direct sound and recording a dry signal via spdif.I have the cables running from: Direct Output/Send >>>> Tubescreamer >>>> Return Input
Is this right? In the A block I select Distortion Loop.
Is this the right one to select. What is the mono loop for?Cheers!!!!

Cheers man! So do I just run the profile like a normal bass rig or do I need to ad a cabinet or anything?

I was really disappointed when I first got the Kemper bit this was down to the profiles I was using. I tried to return it and luckily my dealer ignored my email because it would have been a huge mistake. As soon I tried the Amp Factory profiles it completely changed my opinion and now I love it.
