In any case, i would suggest makeing a backup for the worst case scenario.
Yep done that. I've spent hours trying to perfect my Holdsworth tone profiles. Wouldn't want to lose them

I'm wondering if it's because I upgraded profiler software rather than rig manager.
So i've now upgraded rig manager so hopefully problem sorted
Have you clicked on the jumping icon?
Of course time & time again over several weeks. I even close rig manager. Then open it & it sometimes happens again.
I update the the profiler software.
But then update profiler software message is still coming in making rig manager icon jump up & down in Mac dock. Driving me nuts !
Surely the software doesn't need updating that often.
Anyway to stop this happening, thanks
Ah yes
Select all then export
Thanks
Is there anyway Kemper could make it possible to save profiles straight to other media storage device, computer hard drive etc directly instead of via USB stick?
if you install Rig Manager and start it you will see the local library on the left side of the RM window. It represents the directory where you can organize and store your own rigs, presets and performances.
As a mere directory it's not preserving the precious thing. Namely one's tweaked profiles. Therefore I'm not sure what the point of it is. Probably due to my lack of understanding !
Thanks
But if rig manager isn't the profiles on profiler nor preferences on profiler, then what is the local library ?
Oh thanks. Not sure what is meant by content. Preferences perhaps?
I just selected Tools, backup, in rig manager
Then saved to a folder on my Mac. This then gives me a 33kb file entitled... "2023-12-14 22-57-36 - Robin.rmbackup"
Done in an instant. Uh... except it's only 33kb. And there's no profiles in this file to open ! 🤔
So I don't believe it's my 999 profiles
So I'm now backing up on USB stick which takes a few minutes & is storing my profiles.
So what is backup in rig manager for ?
I found if i unplug USB lead to my Mac, then sound returns. But means I can't use rig manager of course. But when I plug it back in it kills the input.
I have a ticket raised thanks
#1 "Sound comes out distorted for a few seconds then silence !"
Sound wouldn't come out at all if there was a jack or cable problem would it ?
And again
#3 "No not the jack. It wouldn't work on Kemper start up if it was"
Then you chip in later with..
#4 "Have you checked the jack" !
Try checking previous posts
You just wasted my time!
If someone asked a question on a car forum about an engine problem would you ask .. "Have you tried putting the ignition in & operating the start switch?"
Suggest you Try it then. I've owned mine 10 years & it's always done that including after firmware updates.
Actually I need some expert advice, the answers to all your questions/suggestions were in my first two posts.
LED above Master button shows signal in brief period when guitar sound comes out on startup. Out of my speakers I get the typical dry guitar sound one gets if one plays while the Kemper is booting up before reverb & everything else kicks in.
Except the proper guitar sound doesn't kick in when it has booted up. Just silence.
No not the jack. It wouldn't work on Kemper start up if it was
Went to use my Kemper but no sound. LEDs showing no input. Only sound is when i switch it off then on towards end of warm up period guitar sound comes out distorted for a few seconds then silence !
Tried with various profiles & all the same
Any thoughts?
thanks
Very nice playing. I'm finding Britt profiles are some of the best overdriven sounds too.
I have the free Britt profiles downloaded from Kemper site. Looks like the princeton's not in the free pack.
Does anyone know if the Britt profiles in the 2020 pack are also worth getting for overdriven sounds or are those sounds pretty much covered in the free Britt pack on the Kemper site ?
https://mbritt.com/product/2020-pack/
Thomas Dill created the "TD - Eri Joh" rig for Kemper's Legends Tribute pack no. 3! I have not much clue how Eric Johnson sounds as I do not know much of his music. But that rig really is a great sounding Marshall-type tone. I bundled it with another cab and it really serves me very well... potentially that's a good starting point for you and it is for free
Pretty good. What cab are you using with it ?
Thanks
Mbritt's Grammatico is perfect for it
Thanks, but I searched rig downloads & all online profiles. Can't locate that one
Can anyone suggest profiles for Eric johnson tones ?
I've searched rig exchange but can find any labelled as such.
I know a lot of tone comes from the fingers & he has magic fingers, but i'd like to try & get close
I do have a yellow sunburst strat like his. So I have the right guitar & colour
I just need the right tone colour
I've tried various Marshal & Dumble profiles. But they're not really that close.
Can anyone suggest any profiles ?
Thanks
