I think Christoph really hit on something very important there. Your ear. It takes time getting used to the sound and feel of the KPA and for the players ear to adjust to the difference from a typical guitar amp. This is something I struggled with for a bit but am in love with some of the tones I'm getting with the KPA.
My problem currently is crossing too much frequency with the bass. Stepping into his sonic space if you will. I back the bass down but it seems an eq setting may be a good route to dial the specific frequencies that conflict.
I have a big gig in San Francisco next week. (big for me). Is will be my first gig running through the house PA. Looking forward to it.RC

Wow, great player and unexpected.

.... and there's the rub (and why the KPA is so good) - we all like different things so whilst a good profile is going to be liked by a lot of people, several good profiles will divide opinions. Some times a change of cab or eq can alter things dramatically and bring a rig to life. I found this with the TAF Rivera Knucklehead profiles which I was a bit unimpressed by. I tried a few different cabs and really like them now.
It's all good.
So true. Then there is trying a different guitar and it all changes again.
Was enjoying a dirty Shirley this morning with my tele. Its a beautiful thing.

Since owning my KPA, I've had between 800 & 900+ profiles at any given time on it.
As I browse my profiles, I've gotten brutal about cutting them with a simple criteria...
even if a profile sounds good, have I heard a similar one that sounds better?
If so, it's out. If its unique or has some positive attributes that may be tweakable to a good sound later I keep it.My goal is 200.
The beauty of this thing is all those profiles are on my computer if I ever need them.

I realize the problems I'm facing with stands are they don't go low enough. Typically too high.

I agree, ere are many great profiles already on there.
I find the KPA to be very sensitive to which guitar I've got plugged in too. -
I see TONS of high gain stuff here and that's great but I live in the low to mid gain territory which can be a little tricky to get just right.
I just came across a Marshall bluesbreaker profile by Ballantine. I believe its CR Mar Bluesbreak in title. He's got 4 total that range from clean to grit.
To me this profile sounds wonderfully open and clear. Not too much high end sizzle, just enough breakup for both lead and rhythm playing.
Highly recommended.
I also like the Chief Dirty CU29. Nice. What are some of your favorite low to mid gain profiles?
Post them here. I'm always looking for more. -
I want to check these out too. Thanks for all the work!
-
I'm looking for something in the $30 - $40 range.

Congratulations and say goodbye to all your spare time.
I realize I thought I was spending all my time tweaking when in fact it was that I was playing a lot with each tweak.
This amp will take over your life.Enjoy!

Quote from 'Maurizio
For sure I didn't make any special "magic" to sound better, and the KPA have no general parameter to make differences between a backup or another.
So you say...Actually, the volume is at 9 and everything sounds better louder on the KPA. This may be one thing. (I had to turn down my monitors)

Hmmm, not sure how to calibrate the fcb.
I'm reloading my previous backup to see if it's running normally again.*Edit,
I just reloaded my original backup and both pedals work properly. It appears its just some setting in the starting pack. Maybe Maurizio can chime in and give me a tip on how to fix it.On another note, Im loading the starting pack back up, things just sounded better.
Just needed to rename things. all is working now and sounding even better,
THANK YOU MAURIZIO FOR THIS!!
