Only the vocals are processed in Reaper. The guitar goes to FOH from the Kemper and the drums are sent into the PA. The click track also comes out of the interface into headsets for the drummer (probably going to replace with in-ear monitoring); and then the vocals are sent out audio interface to the PA. Reaper is mainly used for MIDI patch changing, full control of the vocalist effects, and any overlays that are necessary.

Have not experienced any latency issues. I guess to compare, think of when you record guitar using Reaper. Are you hearing any latency from what you are playing and the alignment on the DAW? I know some do, but I have an average laptop, that has been gutted and thinned out of any extras to run just the software. So I have had no issues with latency.

I do tilt it during rehearsal. For the tilt I use a QuikLok amp stand. The rack weighs in at about 90 lbs. and the amp stand can support 100 lbs. (God willing). For live shows I would not use the DXR10 unless it is necessary. Most of the venues here have a massive monitoring system and the DXR10 would get drowned. However, if I was playing a show with mostly clean channel guitar I might reconsider. Another reason would be that I am going to keep the rack system on the side stage. Mainly for visual monitoring, and away from the rowdy crowd armed with full pints of beer.

Also considering the dolly and tilt system made by Gruv Gear. Its pricey, but looks perfect for this type of setup.

Lastly, I am hoping our new bassist will go with a Kemper or something similar and get a rack unit of his own. Then I can put mine on top and the height should be perfect without a tilt.

This must look like a control freaks dream come true. I am using a Gator G-Shock flight case. Items installed from bottom to top: Yamaha DXR10 (Yeah, it fits like a glove), KPA, Furman Power Conditioner, Focusrite Scarlett 6i6, and on top my laptop.

Benefits to this rig is that it is very self contained and easy to transport from rehearsal to gig. Also with the audio interface and the laptop, I can go direct to the In-Ear monitoring system for the click track and run all vocal effects/changes through Reaper. Then I go out of the interface to FOH. Vocalist never has to worry about proper effects or changes, everything is controlled by reaper and the EZ Mix VST.

Big plus is I no longer need to wait for the mythical KPA foot switch. Reaper now automates all my changes. Sorry Kemper, you lost my money on the footswitch purchase. I still come out of the KPA mains to FOH, and out of the Monitor out for the DXR10.

Laptop is held in place by velcro and makes for an easy on/off during transport. I guess one last addition for the space you see on the top left. Probably going with a Line 6 Relay G50 for wireless setup.

Thought I would share and let me know if you need any information on how to setup this rig.

p.s. sorry for the grainy photo.

Had this idea in my head for a while. Great news it worked. The measurements between the screw holes on the Yamaha DXR10 ar 18.25 inches and the screw holes on the Gator G-Shock 8L are 18.5. Close enough for me.

The speaker fit like a glove. Now you do have to remove the interior vertical spacer. Not a big issue, a grinder will bust the weld. After that you will need six 2" screws (I believe they are number eights) and 6 1" spacers. It helps to have the aid of a friend for the extra pair of hands. There will be a 1U space above the speaker so to help it stay in tightly, I installed a power conditioner.

Let me know what you think and questions I will answer the best I can, but for the most part it is really simple.

Mint condition Yamaha DXR10 (1000w). Purchased three weeks ago and only used in the studio twice. Realized I only need one instead of two. All the cables are included and there are no marks on the unit.

Would ship, if the buyer paid postage. However if you are close pick up can be arranged.

Price is $450 USD, Sorry no trades.

Just tried the main 1/4 inch out jack into one DXR10. Ran both Left and Right sides in and made sure the Link setting was at mono. I used Monster Rock Cables 1/4 inch unbalanced 3 meters in length. No noise at all. In fact. I like the sound of it better than the XLR cables. Also, I have the contour set to OFF.

Currently I am using the Kent Armstrong Broiler 7 in both positions. These are passive pickups, and Kent is primarily known for jazz pickups. So they are warm and produce more bass. I have these on a seven string so I can get down to a low B and not have to worry about drop tuning or poor string tension. They are clear enough pickups to pick up the low notes, and really get that fat, fuzzy 70's sound when thrown into the neck position.

I have considered the BKP's, post a link if you have a sound sample of the Riff Raff or Nailbomb. I have another guitar that I am rebuilding and considering a different pickup set.

Yeah that is right it is 3.3. To me, I just say neutral because nearly every profile I have downloaded or purchased this setting is at 3.3. Makes me wonder if when you profile it is actually really doing any type of tube shape defining. Needless to say it is always personal preference, but yes I do adjust those settings.

I adjust mine according to info I read in the forum. One important tip was adjusting the tube shape. One member suggested moving it closer to 7.5 would be more towards the sound of an actual tube, while keeping it at the neutral setting (5.0) would be more like the sound of a solid state amplifier. There is more info on the forum regarding power sagging but I adjust this setting for the amount of punch I need in the sound.

Here are a few of my adjustments:

    Heavy Distorted Rhythm:

    Definition 5.30
    Power Sag 0.00
    Pick -0.70
    Compressor 0.00
    Clarity 0.40
    Tube Shape 7.60

    Distorted Lead:

    Definition 6.90
    Power Sag 3.30
    Pick 0.00
    Compressor 0.30
    Clarity 1.20
    Tube Shape 7.60

    Clean Channel:

    Definition 3.80
    Power Sag 3.20
    Pick 0.10
    Compressor 0.10
    Clarity 1.60
    Tube Shape 7.20

    Crunch/Grit Channel:

    Definition 3.70
    Power Sag 3.20
    Pick 0.00
    Compressor 2.50
    Clarity 1.90
    Tube Shape 7.60

Currently, I use a Monster Performer 500 XLR cable 21' in length. Yes there is a slight hiss but not noticeable or annoying. My DXR volume is set at 0 db and then I adjust the volume from the Kemper. For solo practice I am at 1.3 on the Kemper master volume. Next week will be the real test as it will be in a practice hall with a drummer.

Lastly, I do have the contour set at none on the DXR. So not using the monitor or FOH contour.
