So taking the first jump to firmware 3.0 I noticed that the direct edit feature, that was previously selectable, is now mandatory.
Fair enough I thought, I got used to it of coarse.
I noticed now in the 3.01 Public beta, it's slightly different. By holding down an effect module, it doesn't switch an effect on and off anymore.
Was this changed again for a reason? I can adjust and all, but I'm curious to all the changes. Is it something to do with the Remote?
Hmm, now that I think about it, it's probably the case.

Do you have any other pedal that you could try?
Yeah, I tried my univibe pedal in the FX loop, same problem but much worse! -
What delay pedal are you using? I just tried with my ibanez delay and i can crank the cabinet volume by 12 dB without overloading the input of the pedal.
MXR carbon copy.

So I'm making process with getting my delay pedal to play nice in the FX loop of the Kemper. After much twiddling I've found that reducing the level in the cabinet module by -3db solves the overloaded/distortion sound. I would like to lock this level in but of coarse it locks the whole cabinet module.
I've tried putting an EQ effect right before the mono loop and pulling down the level, but it doesn't do the trick!
I've pretty much adjusted everything to try and get rid of this problem. Shame I can't just lock the level part in the cabinet block.(EDIT) Multiple pedals in FX loop displaying overdriven, unwanted distortion...
Adjusting cabinet block level reduces distortion...
Placing fx loop in stomps ABCD seems to be ok, but not after stack section (X, MOD)... -
Well by reducing the level by -3db in the cabinet block I've gotten rid of the overloading distortion thingy! I would like to lock the cabinet volume at this level but of coarse it also locks the whole darn module. Tried putting an EQ before the mono loop to bring down the level but it doesn't do the trick...
Hmmm.... -
What kind of loop configuration do you use, loop distortion / loop mono?
In case of loop distortion, the boost of any previous effect is applied to the send of the loop (Reference manual 3.0 page 80) and may be driving your delay too much.Loop mono. I've also got no other effect on besides the delay.

Thanks for the info.

Boy it's really annoying, like something is running too hot on the inputs of the pedal or fx loop. Sigh. Was planning on buying a bunch of pedals but now I'm worried. Had similar problems with the Axe FX II's fx loop too! Part of the reason why I got rid of it.
-
I did a little experiment. Main output into MXR carbon copy, carbon copy into audio interface = no clipping type distortion/aliasing + more pronounced delay repeats. What's up with the fx loop then? Is there a setting I'm missing somewhere?
-
or, you could just change the amp EQ setting to 'pre' ;)[/quote]
Yeah have tried that, doesn't have the range I like unfortunately. A shame too that you can only have one or the other in regards to the stack EQ. Maybe a feature request?
-
Hmm. So I read that the Carbon Copy gets a bit dark through FX loops and is rectified some what with using an 18v power supply.
The clipping type distortion/aliasing seems to be also profile specific. Some profiles work great, other don't...volume levels all the same too.
Hmm, wonder why that is? -
Got a MXR Carbon copy in the FX loop, getting slight, sort of clipping like aliasing and darker than usual delay repeats. Any suggestions/help/advise peeps?

After watching Ola Englund demo the Randall Satan ages ago, I've become a pre-EQ fanatic. May not be quite the same, but for now the metal equaliser before the stack module does the trick!
-
Is there a way to return modules, stack settings, profile amp parameters to their base settings/defaults? I constantly play around with things like EQ settings and it would be nice if by a press of a button (preferably not tapping undo repeatedly), I could revert something to their defaults.

Title says it all. Please Kemper guys!
-
Ha, yeah figured as much but you know. Maybe this is just a refresher!
-
Would really like this feature, I kinda need to have at least one more FX module in pre position.
Would be nice to have ABCD X MOD pre and post options! I generally prefer to have most FX's in front, and some people prefer it after, let us choose! -
I'm curious about this too. Wonder if by using pedals would introduce any hard to control noise or hiss?
If I were to put a pedal in front via instrument input, would I still be able to use the noise gate?
I used to have an Axe FX XL and it was terrible at taking pedals, front and fx loop! -
Yeah I'm thinking as a work around to use two dual footswitches at the back of the Kemper rack to control X, MOD + DLY,RVB and have the Remote do Stomps A,B,C & D!
-
Hmm...think I'm going to have to play around with this thing!
