If you have time and want to make some expiriences i would go for the cheapest solution ever.
There are many Micro Computers on the market, for example a Raspberry PI for a few Dollars.
(Very small dimensions and runs with USB power).
This Little Computer is able to run Linux (which costs nothing at all). And for Linux there are
existing DAW's for free.
So that would be a good start to see what your Needs are.

Sorry Tritium,
sure, i mean an Audio Interface and not an Audio Card. I find those compact Audio Interfaces with USB or FireWire very useful.
You can carry it with your Notebook to the rehearsal room etc.
If you plan to get a new one, i would recommend a S/PDIF in and out to be able to make a high Quality reamping...
I choosed a all in one call MBOX PRO 3. It has S/PDIF and MIDI and enough In and Outs, balanced and unbalanced so that
i have a complete Studio in one thing. -
Booting is slower now It takes as long as my Computer) 1 min. 16 sec.
More features, more booting time. So you have to start your gigs earlier... -
Press Input. Then turn the browse knob.
The display shows several PU situations.
Choose "low-input".
Check if your PU's to strings distance is to big.
Any changes? -
Did you try: "press and hold SYSTEM while powering up"? Michael Mellner had a problem with Input Sources
and solved the problem with that...
Be sure to have a backup before that! -
Really nothing connected. Either no Midi Controller?
-
Welcome to the forum DIMI!
First of all i would make a full BackUp.
Then you could make certain resets (Global Init and System reset).
Look here: http://www.wikpa.org/Troubleshooting
Then check your In- and Output Levels. And try to choose another guitar and instrument cable to exclude trouble with that.
BTW: You have to change the S/PDIF Source in your SoundCard to "Exterrnal" because Kemper
has to have the control.
And use a right S/PDIF cable. The old Chinch-Stuff for HiFi use can cause problems. -
Did you try to put a guitar directly into the reamp input? Any signal?
Make a complete backup.
Press the rig button while booting the Kemper (Your settings should not be affected).
If that doesn't help try "Init Globals" in the system menu. (Your rigs should not be affected)
Take a look at:
http://www.wikpa.org/Troubleshooting#Emergency_Procedures
http://www.wikpa.org/Emergency (add a "!" after that link!) -
Which Audio Card do you use?
-
Unfortunately there are not much possibilities to tweak but the reamp sense. But i'm shure you have
checked this. Is you Audio Card able to reamp with S/PDIF? For me it is the best way to do reamping
with high quality annd easy handling with clean and effect signal at one time in DAW. So when your
Audio Card has S/PDIF and you have cables it would be a good test anyway.AFAIK the system reset brings up the state of delivery. So you have to use your backups later.

Owning Rack Version over half a year. No crashes, no problems (either i made them myself...)
-
All these comments are good and comprehensible but i still don't know if i should take the time
for a merged profiles. I think i must do one myself to check if its worth the effort. -
Nice to see such a pro using a Kemper. May be we meet him in this forum asking why the monitor
cab has no sound and we guide him trough the output menu But i'm shure, he will be anynomus.
So Mr. Gilbert: If you join the forum, you are very welcome and please share your selfmade profiles please! (So do we;-) -
Was war denn das Problem? Dann haben andere User auch etwas davon...
-
Danke Ingolf!
-
And is there a difference in quality between merged and studio profile if i use only FRFR?
-
Hi Kempers,
i'm searching for hours to get a good answer to the following question but i didn't find a clear statement.
Some users and even the manual says, that a merged profile has 2 advantages:
- The sound of the amplifier would be a bit more authentic
- You can put out a amp+cab signal for FOH and a single amp signal for monitor cabinet at onceCertainly it is more effort to profile this way, but when it is better, why do most people (even comercial profilers)
don't make merged profiles instead of studio one's?
Or is the difference marginal? -
Try following:
Turn off Firewall and Antivirus for the moment.
Deinstall Rigmanager.
Install Rigmanager with Admin-Rights.
Start Rigmanager as Admin (Right-Klick Rigmanager and choose "run as Admin").
Does it work now?
