    hi TheLightspeeder

no surgery at this point in time
surgery with a plate/screws inbedded was discussed but the orthopedic surgeon agreed that for the type of break i have i will probably heal ok and not need surgery. recovery time is about the same.

i have had frozen shoulders in the past (my right shoulder is getting cortisone injections at present) so i know i have to keep my joints moving.
i take the left arm out of the sling every 2-3 hours to move the elbow joint and exercise my muscles
i just recently had surgery on my feet so im feeling like "born under a bad sign" at the moment.....

btw - we have a publicly funded medicare system in Australia (like the UK NHS) so the emergency treatment, xrays, specialists etc plus any additional treatment at the hospital over the next weeks is all free of cost. Got to love "socialist" medicine. lol
    thanks for your kind words
    cheers

It might be helpful if Kemper themselves could give some advice on this matter, after all its their product that is being used to create the profiles in the first place
i assume they would have sought legal advice around "profiling" when developing the product
    cheers

    Arggggggggg,

walking thru the park I got attacked by a big magpie (a bird like a crow) and tripped and fell trying to get away.
crack goes the collarbone on my left side. im right handed so at least i can type! lol
arm in a sling so no guitar and no Kemper for 6-8 weeks
might have to learn how to play with my feet......

    Hi

I have some presets loaded from other users which are accessed by way of the "Effects" button (then "Browse"), not by the 4 individual buttons above the "Effects" button.
These are typically a combination of say reverb/delay/pitch or reverb/delay/chorus and so on, into one multi-effect preset.
My question is how do I create such a preset in the first place?
    thanks

    Hi kwk13

Coincidentally I use the same monitors (series1) and have mostly MBritt and TAF profiles... who'd a thunk!
Anyway Im just a home player so low volume is needed but I want to get that openness as well. I'm playing a LP Traditional. Here is what I do as a basic start:
For most profiles I need to turn the Presence down a few notches - I find the monitors can become shrill and not warm enough
I add a nice Hall Reverb (Ambient Fat tweaked a little)
In the X slot I usually add the Space effect on default 5
I usually have some delay (cause I like it !)
I go into the Amp settings and turn down the amp volume a bit
I tend to increase the Amp Clarity a little
Sometimes I will add a little Amp Direct Mix as well
I like to tweak other settings as well, but try these and see how you go
    cheers

    Hi
Micheal Britt has a Rockman profile in his Pack 3. You have to pay for it though
You could listen to it on his site then decide if its for you

    Hi all,

I think Kemper have made it clear that they don't want anything other than "original author of the rig and profile" content on RE.
That's cool, it's their site and I respect that.
It's a shame though as I would like to upload stuff, not for my own self interest but to feel that I have given back to the community.
At the moment I have downloaded just about every rig on RE and feel like I should give something back instead of just taking!
I don't own amps anymore so I cant contribute under the Kemper rules.

To Michael_dk, you mentioned "if you buy a book and change the names of all the places and characters, would it be OK to offer that as a free download? No."
That's an interesting point. If you think about it that's what the Kemper Profiler allows people to do.

For example, If I buy a readily available amp (let's say a Fender Twin), profile it with a variety of settings and then offer it to Kemper users on RE for free is that ok?
Clearly it is, but I have effectively removed/reduced the need for those users to go out a buy a Fender Twin to get those tones.

There are many instances of products which are the "inspiration" for subsequent products; how many Fender Strat copies by other manufacturers exist with small variances (but are clearly based on the Strat), how many clone/copied Marshall or Fender amps exist quite happily within international copyright/intellectual property rights laws.

    Anyway, it's all good!
    cheers

    Thanks for the replies

Its an interesting "intellectual property" rights situation I guess
If i take someones rig and fundamentally change it (eq/amp parameters/effects etc) so that it does not sound exactly like the original rig, have a created a new rig?
If I use MS Word to create a best selling novel do I owe Microsoft anything for providing the vehicle (software) allowing me to create the novel?
    Just blue skying....

    Hi all,

Just wanted to clarify the rules regarding re-uploading rigs to the RE.

If I download a rig from someone else off RE (or based on a bought commercial rig that I own) tweak it to my preferences, can I then upload it for others to use?
Im not trying to claim credit for the original rig or anything like that, I just want to share my tweaked rigs that other folks might appreciate

    Cheers
