i found a post at VGuitarForums
https://www.vguitarforums.com/smf/index.php?topic=13484.25
it looked very easy to build a converter to control the Variax via MIDI.
in the post is written that you have to send a SysEx wakeup call to the variax before sending MIDI Program canges.
But my Variax 300 understand the command without sysex.
i only had to connect pins 4 and 5 of the MIDI Socket to pin 7+8 of the RJ45 Socket and it works.
In addition i use a power supply (9V DC) at pins 1+2 of the RJ45 to power the variax.
this little prototype works fine.
Now i can use different Guitar Models on my variax without doing complicated switching on the guitar.
I only have to switch to another performance slot.
if anyone is interested i can post a list with the Guitar Models on the Variax and their corresponding program Numbers.

This video helped me to get a smoother sound with the Cubase Multi Tap Delay.

reducing the sample rate was the trick.
And the Cubase builtin reverb REVelation is also easy to use and sounds nice (always tried Roomworks before).
Again thank you all for the inspiration. -
Ok, i will give another try to the builtin ones.
still hoping Kemper will release theirs as plugin. Then one could easily drag and drop the settings from rig manager to the vst
-
thank you all for your input.
so far i tried:
- Pulsar Echorec which i liked at once.- echoes t7e, a cheaper version of it https://www.audiority.com/shop/echoes-t7e/
that also sounds good, but i think is not o user friendly- cubase built in Multi Tap Delay which is a mighty tool, but i did not find a nice sound easily
- NastyDLA mkII, a free delay plugin that i found tody. sounds very nice
i will try this one a bit more -
I like the Delays and Reverbs in the Kemper very much.
But when recording i use a dry signal and like to add delay / reverb in the DAW.
I am using cubase and go through the presets right now, but don't find useful ones.
I always try to use presets as i am not good in dialing in good settings.
Does anyone use the built in delays in cubase and is satisfied?
Or do you use 3rd party delays?Reamping would not be an option for me

blittle1222 i like your profiles very much. both the 800 and the Friedman.
Especially i like the Artist tones, as i am not good in dialing those in myself. -
You could also control the Main out via MIDI.
i built a Pedal for this purpose
I built a Master-Volume-Pedal for the KPA from a simple Volume Pedal -
OK, i need new glasses .
In fact i did dot look in the chapter reamping as i thougt it must be in the input section -
Be aware that in some situations two S/PDIF cables need to be plugged between PROFILER and interface to enable audio signal in one direction and clock signal into other direction.
Burkhard maybe you should add this to the manual (i hope i didn't miss it) even if it is ovious.

This will not work.
You need a stereo Socket for the potentiometer and a separate (mono) socket for the switch.
you can find building instructions here https://www.strymon.net/strymo…our-own-expression-pedal/ -

Will try tomorrow.
If the current mapping/calibration will remain in my Profiler-Head after using the Stage Backup, i can do this more often. -
i recently bought a Profiler Stage for Home use. i use a profiler Head+Remote at rehersal.
I have two expression pedals connected to the Stage and two to the remote.
now i am not sure what pedal Numbers will be mapped, when i use a Stage (4 Pedals) Backup for the Head (6 pedals with remote).does anybody know?

I also had the problem wit accidentially switching.
i built a solution for this.
to switch in the upper row you have to tap your foot from more above. -
I built a special pedal to control the monitor volume in a defined range
I built a Master-Volume-Pedal for the KPA from a simple Volume Pedal -
i only had a few minutes to try, but already like the ZAKK Profiles very much.
i also like how it sounds with the Kabinet, when i for example select the greenback imprint for your greanback profiles.
i would appreciate if in the Cabinet section the matching imprints were already selected. -
You could use a pedal like the Roland EV-5 .
You can set the pedal range at the pedal.
some time ago I had a feature request for a pedal range parameter for the monitor volume. -
I like the double tracker very much through my studio monitors.
Today i listened to it through my Kabinet (mono) and i didn't like it at all.It would be great to have an option to bypass the double tracker for mono outputs.
