Yeah, I've used in-ears before (not with the Kemper). And I remember not being overly impressed with them. But, that was back when I was still mic'ing a guitar cab on stage. I think the Kemper will make everything sound better since it's all being sent direct. But this was the premise of my original question. Will earbuds sound as good as the headphone out. I'm thinking of buying just the base model for the transmitter unit, and then using my headphones. I'd prefer to not have to wear headphones on stage (but I know some pro guitarists do it). But I'm interested in using what is going to sound the best to me. And if headphones will sound better than ear-buds, I may go with that. I mean hey, I'm a 41 year old married guy. I'm not looking to make a fashion statement on stage. I'm looking for what will give me the best sound at a reasonable price. haha!

I'm using InEars - stage dive SD-4, which are quite good from the sound quality - pretty much high end - it has 4 drivers buid in. Only thing - regarding ambience - it will be different comparing to a headphone. This InEar eliminates exterior noise by up to 25-26dB. At the beginning, I struggled with a bit, therefore I weared one of the 2 Earplugs less close in the ear canal. But now, I'm used to it and I'm happy with. Finally, with good INEars, you have also to work on your monitor mix to get it sound right in context to the rest of your band.

I've still both - tube amp (Boogie MarkV), whcih I will never sell (most probably) and I love my Kemper.
... and now, I'm going to have a coffee - Cappucino double shot - coffee beans are from Andraschko, a small manufactory from Berlin.
I compare the beans with a profile, which I run through my espresso machine (Kemper) into my cup (FRFR). All togther gives you the great taste. Pretty like the kemper - the better the profile you use, the better your sound ...
This analogy is just fun - Live is great ... with or without a tube amp :)

If you're using Fender profiles - e.g. stuff from MBritt Vint-Pack, you might have the amp foundation. As you most probably know, SRV was using heavy strings (12-54) and tuned his Git to Eflat. With his kind of heavy striking/attacking the strings, he created the most important part of his sound. He was also often using a Fender Bassman together with other Fender Amps and yes, he used a leslie cabinet most as well.
If I remember correctly, I've "emulated" the leslie by combining by using Univibe Phaser (in MOD) and some Trem (Stompbox) together. Hope, this will help you a bit.

Hey all. I'm looking for a remote. Preferably in the U.K but I'll also consider anywhere in the EU too.

    Thanks.

Hi, I've 1 remote, which I do not use anymore, cause switched to a midi controller. Was rarely used, bought it late 2015. Interested?

Here is my Kemper Rack mounted into a lightweight SKB 19" Rack (6 unit). I'm using a few mono stomp boxes (Fulltone FatBoost, Boss BluesDriver (modded), Suhr Riot and a MXR MicroFlanger) in FX loop, a RJM MiniEffectGizmo to midi control. Ernie Ball Volume Pedal and a MC EP-1 for Wah, that's it. All controlled with RJM Mastermind GT16, which is amazing and does work far better for me as Kemper remote to run through my 52 performances (Coverband-Setup).

All connected stereo to FOH.Mono out runs into a Ritter FRFR Active Box, which does provide me some ambience on stage. My sound is quite good, still struggling a bit with my InEar's - using a quite good StageDiver SD-4 - but still figure out the optimal mix.
Does anybody have recommendations for this? Experience? Is it worth to invest into individual otoplastic for the ears?

I'm interested to hear how you get on with your GT16 REHO, as I'm thinking of pulling the trigger on one too. It's hugely expensive though, especially ordering in Europe. I hope it will be worth it. I'm still trying to decide which floorboard I want... 10, 16 or 22 buttons. I was aiming at the 16 but I do like the fact that the 22 uses superior XLR jacks instead of standard MIDI ports for relaying the data.

    Hi,
I've solved all challenges. I figured out, it was 1 cable, causing the trouble. I've the GT16, bought in US (much cheaper). I've a Mini Effect Gizmo as well to run few boost and dist pedals as I'm not happy with buld in boost and dist unit. The MiniGizmo is connected with the "direct out/send and return" of the Kemper. I'm using stomp C (Loop Distortion) to dial in after Stomp A (Wah) and Stomp B (Comp).

After having fixed mit initialization challenge, everything is smooth now. I'm using performance mode, turned on Auto Names in the Devices tab of the GT settings. It makes the GT work like the KPA's own remote, where it dynamically displays the current slots and performance names.

Using a SKB R6U Roto Rack to mount my entire stuff.

It should be pretty much plug and play if you use the template that Mastermind provides for the GT-16. After checking that you are sending midi on the correct channels, check the cables. Perhaps you have connected to the wrong jacks.

Yeah, I did a fw reset and than started the entire process again. Now, get Preset names" from Kemper worked almost - I've 58 Performances with total about 250 presets - the process stopped at performance 46, so Kemper and MMGT were frozen, started again - same again. But at least, I've some stuff in.

Now - remaining issue - in the and stomp box buttons do show correct infos. How do I get the performance names into the main display.

Rather than this - yes, agree, the MMGT has much more option and should allow me to configure my set as I wanted.

    Hi,
I just received my Mastermind GT16, which should give me more flexibilty wit my Kemper. I followed exactly the instructions to connect and initialize the MMGT, also using 2 Midi Cables and connected as required. MIDI channels is "1". I've selected KPA as device, but if trying to get the preset names fro Kemper, it noodles without getting any information.
Does anybody have experience with this setup? Is there any trick, so do I need enable anything on my Kemper?
