@Monkey_Man - correct on two counts - yours, and on my comment above! I bow out!

Alright, wrote the above comment and then realized it had very little to do the with OP's question, my bad!
I agree with many of the others - find the profiles that work for you. For me, it's Michael Britt's stuff, nearly exclusively (it's sooo good). And so far, %100 percent of my clients agree! Next time you have some one recording guitar get them to play guitar while you look through rig manager, clicking on different profiles. You'll find something that fits quickly. Make a note, or save it under a name you can recall and you will probably find it as a starting point for future products.
The best part of owning a Kemper for me is finding my clients a tone in under 15 minutes. Can't argue with saved time in the studio!

I agree on the recording at low levels thing BUT some pre-amps come to life when driven hard - bare with me as I am being specific to Kemper recording. I actually prefer to record my Kemper via XLR to preamp, rather than SPDIF, precisely because I can drive some choice pieces at the studio that I work at a little harder than usual, and I personally think it results in a better sound - for the rock I am doing.
Two examples of pre's I like hitting hard are Vintech 1073 and the Great River MP-2NV. Both of these have an Post level control but it seems that you can't keep them too low to get in the sweet spot.

Anytime! I always get a kick of how unreal the Kemper sounds recorded so I can't help but share some of it! It makes my job easy and the clients thing I'm a wizard! haha

Hey @Karajan
Mars J800 1 5 2 is the main guitars for sure, but I EQ 'd on the way in via a VinTech 1073. (I use that profile live quite a bit too). If I recall correctly we used something from the Mars 69 pack for the high octave guitars and the tremolo guitars!
Effects were recorded straight from the Kemper too. rather than plug ins or pedals.

A band I produced and mixed, called Wise Youngblood, just released a song I recorded with them back in December and we went full Kemper on the guitars and bass - couldn't be happier! Two different Les Pauls, a firebird, and a P-bass - Michael Britt profiles the whole way!
We also used it for some crazy tremelo effects that are layered in there at points!

Bumping this thread to see if any new packs have become popular and to see what people are still swearing by when it comes to oranges profiles! Post your favourites!

Hey all! Been looking into the DVP3 and found the mini DVP4 and was curious if anyone has experience with the latter - sweep still good? Same functionality with the Kemper Remote?
Any insight would be great!
Thanks,

Thanks guys! I'll post a link once they get it up on youtube or something like it!

Actually - I lied! The tiny sounding guitar panned hard left during the intro is a real amp!
-
Hey everyone! Here's another track I produced, engineered, and mixed using my Kemper for EVERY guitar and bass tone.
Sorry for the Spotify link: the band doesn't have it up on youtube yet.

Hey everyone, I didn't end up getting this so I believe it is still available! Just didn't want to mislead people with my last post!
Cheers,

I'll take it! In Canada
-
I ordered it on productioncase.com - flying this week and they had it delivered in no time - plus they are in Canada

Hey everyone! I've got myself a Pelican 1610 (which is perfect by the way) but am still looking for a Remote!

I had the pleasure of producing and mixing a great rock band called Sweeet Action and we used the Kemper for the entire album - guitar AND bass. I actually tried to beat it out with tube amps a few times, even setting up the same amp type a couple of times, but Kemper took it home without fail. Did blind taste tests with the band for the first few songs and everyone got over any skepticism pretty darn quick!
This is their first single off of the EP we recorded:

Thanks man! I messaged him to see if he will ship across the border.

Thanks Tommy! Your post got me going hahaha

My band just released a new single and music video called "Holler" :

We have provided more information on this in our privacy policy.Confession: We didn't use a Kemper for the tones but our producer, Eric Ratz, had an outrageous amp collection that we used and when I was realizing that I couldn't get the tones we were making without a very unrealistic amp collection and massive tour bus he started talking about Kempers..... which now has me using one and loving it!
I produce music for other bands for a living too and will get some Kemper tone examples up soon!
