I guess I was ordering things in terms of how much impact I think they would have on the overall sound. Cables were last in the list

Can you record and post audio samples comparing the real amp to the profile?
-
Interesting concept - by making the mic a "known," you could conceivably add another level of separation. My guess is that variations in mic placement, room acoustics, preamps, cables, etc. would make this pretty difficult or impossible to implement though. But who knows! Kemper did something I thought was impossible (profiling) before I saw it in action.

Tried the samples, bought the whole set. Great!!!

I used the Shure SE 215's with memory foam tips for a few years, then upgraded to 64 Audio A3e's. Huge difference. The custom molds are a big part of the equation too.

Would love the ability to type in values in RM!

Very nice profiles! The PDF is great too. Learning about an amp I knew nothing about, but those Beatles albums are in my DNA at this point.
Thanks!

Try plugging the IEMs into the Kemper's headphone out and see if there's still an issue?

To my ears, the guitars have too much high mids (around 2-5 kHz) and not enough low mids, where the "beef" lives. The bass, on the other hand, might benefit from a little more in the high mids, and more volume overall. Kick could come down a touch.

Is there something preventing me from doing this?
Nope

Seems weird to lose that capability and have to do a weird workaround, no?

Audacity records waves. Just have to figure how to isolate the cab??
Wouldn't it be as simple as turning off the Stomps, Amp and FX blocks?

I'm a recording engineer, and I would say both ways are useful. If I'm just working on tone shaping, I prefer something like a Pultec or SSL-style EQ, depending on what I'm doing...just turn knobs till it sounds good. But if I'm "fixing" a problematic track, using a digital EQ with a visual representation of the curve can be very helpful. Even better if you can see the spectrum plot of the audio in real time, such as with FabFilter or the Logic EQ.

Once you're in the digital realm with SPDIF, changing the volume shouldn't affect the tone at all, as long as you're not clipping.
BTW, what do you mean by punch and headroom? People use those terms to mean different things sometimes.
-
Basically right Bryan but if you use Mod Stereo instead on Stack you get the FX in X and Mod too.
Ah! But it would be in mono, wouldn't it?

BTW, how can one determine when their Kemper was manufactured? I have a Kemper buddy who may be able to use this info too if his KPA is young enough.
