I’m more interested in the dynamics and feels of playing on it. We’re at a point where all modellers sound fairly similar (especially when playing in public in bars - nobody cares!), so for me it’s more about how they respond and feel.

This release kind of feels like a step back ☹️
-
Yep, multiple issues here. Doesn't seem to have actually fixed anything...
Multiple tickets opened. -
I installed the new Beta of RigManager 3.0.87 and OS 7.1.9.
Ok, while some bugs are gone - like saving to the Profiler - some new bugs are introduced.
I just discovered a new amp from RigExchange, tweaked it to my desires, copied it to my local library, did some rename, and then, with a second window opened, copied it to a performance slot and also to the next slot. This worked fine!
But then I discovered, that RigManager does not show the assigned modules for this rig. It must be some module chain from another rig. I did some settings on those modules, like assigning foot switches. Saved this configuration. And did this only with the Profiler. RigManager does not discover this - there is a mismatch between the Profiler and RigManager. After shutting down RigManager and starting it again, it shows the right module chain. Changing to another performance, RigManager shows the right module chain.
Exactly - this is (one of) the main issues I've had and reported - Kemper seem to think it's my laptop not communicating with the Kemper...
-
another option would be to contact support. what you report, we cannot replicate and it sounds like the communication in between your profiler and computer is simply not working correctly.
Message sent. However, please be aware I'm going to be installing the latest stable release later, as I need to ensure everything is working correctly (which it did previously).

Found another huge issue last night.
After practicing at home - and not making any changes to performances etc., as I'd dialed them in earlier in the day and saved them - I went to rehearsal. Booted the Kemper up, and performance 1 had been duplicated over the performance I was on originally when I shut the Kemper off at home (performance slot 4).
I've not been able to try and replicate this, but I'm going back to the release version. All these issues are just frustrating and making it more difficult instead of easier! -
I've made a mistake and 7.1.8 ended up in the update file for the Stage. This version will not work at all with Rig Manager 3.0.87 - update your Stage and things should be fine, I don't see what you've posted as for the FX not being updated.
I'm using a non-powered head.
-
@Farley: You are right. I tried it. I think it is a problem of communication between KPA and RM. The Performances in my Stage are ok. But RM dosnt update.
I'm glad it's not just me. I've just purchased a new USB cable as well, so it's not that either.

Balls. Still getting issues:
- When you right click and rig and preview in editor, all FX blocks show as empty.... even when they're not (in performance mode)- When using a second window to drag a rig to a performance, and you then navigate to another performance slot, the FX blocks do not update
-

Right mouse-button: "Preview in Profiler" should work.
Nope, tried that
-
Found another issue...
When you have 2 windows open (as you have to to bring rigs into a performance), the performance slot details (i.e. the FX chain) doesn't change when you navigate to other performance slots.
I'm connected directly to the Kemper, no USB bus or adapters etc. involved.
Ticket raised.
Annoyingly, think I'm going to have to revert to the last stable release - finding lots of issues (which is to be expected, after all), but it's slowing down my workflow drastically. Just concerned that - last time I did this - I lost ALL rigs and performances, and the backup wouldn't load.... -
Drag and Drop. I create another window and so have the ability to drag the profiles I want from the Kemper into a performance. Remember that you have to turn on the slot to see the profile after dragging it. Highlight, then Ctrl + Enter to activate a rig in your library.
That's just.... wow. You shouldn't need to do this.
I tried it last night, and it worked for a few minutes, and then I kept getting crashes and errors. RM3 also stopped letting me save the performance in the performance slot.
I cannot wait until we get a stable release! -
So, I´m not alone! Hope next version will fix it
Yep - I'm sure it worked previously....!
-
For some reason, I cannot load a rig into a performance now. If I double click on a rig in my library, nothing happens. That means there isn't a way to load a rig into a performance, which is annoying to say the least.
Also, saving a rig to the Kemper in RM3 doesn't seem to actually synchronise it. The count for rigs on the Kemper increases in RM3, but when you try and navigate to it in the Kemper itself, it's not there.
-
I got the same problem, hope it will be fix so I can enjoy my Kemper again.
Same here. Very frustrating; I can't find any way to load a rig / amp into a profile now.
-
Yeah....
I don't need to be that impressed right now. Although I prefer a heavier sound, I did not like that "Screaming Lead" sound, but really for me that's just a personal taste thing. I actually liked the clean stuff on this, thought it sounded cool.
I happened across a YouTube video of one of my guitar heroes George Lynch doing a clinic at PitBull Audio very recently. He was trying out the Tosin Abasi plug-in (sounds like he was very new to it), and I thought it sounded great. On his Instagram, he noted:
"At #pitbull music in San Diego for @espguitars clinic. First time running the @neuraldsp @archetypoe @tosinabasi software Wow!"
George is a monster and a self-proclaimed gear addict, with access to tons of stuff......and if he thinks it's seems cool, who am I do disagree. Mind you this is the plug-in, not the unit. Just for grins, he also mentioned that he had built his tiger stripe guitar for something like a $100 back in the day, and just sold it for $125,000.
I had the opportunity to see his Lynch Mob this past fall at the Arcada Theatre, it was his 65th birthday...and the dude can jam!
Cheers...Todd in Chicago
Yep, the bloke is a monster. I'm going to a guitar clinic next year where he's one of the tutors (along with Paul Gilbert), and everyone has to jam with them both. I'm already crapping my pants.

Pre-ordered. Very, very intriqued.... I'm slightly cautious due to all the obvious marketing hype, but it's not just about how it sounds - it's going to be about the dynamics and feel as well.
Can't wait until November to try it! -
I use performance mode, one performance/song. I had hoped that with the Editor would come more reliability in copying slots between performances, but I'm afraid it's still either quite buggy or unintuitive.
Is there some particular dance I have to do using "Store" at just the right time, or something?
I do believe you need a Rabbi, a Priest, a chicken and a large, very sharp knife.
-
Until they fix it, I'm just in the habit of pressing Store on the Kemper.
They annoying thing is, sometimes it works, and other times it doesn't.... and it kind of defeats the purpose of the editor.
(Plus, having to walk over to the kemper and press 'store' every time is a real PITA).
