To me, i think it's a big market for this particular case. I've not seen any company that has a 16 cabs imprints technology yet and not to confuse with IR's solutions out there . Fractal , Helix and tube guys will be happy to find that they can play 16 different cabs into one cab.

I understand what you want but i think it’s complicated (don’t even know how the chain has to be to work) and really expensive. I assume many tube players won’t « waste » 2000€ just to have a Kemper Profiler (only for kemper imprints) plus the Kabinet/Kone.

The goal of those manufacturers is not to purpose a cab for « traditional » players.

They want to offer a new solution to move towards the « amp in the room » feeling. The message from modelers compagnies is : dear customers, you’ve trusted in us, you have followed us for many years and we’ve improved our modellers during all that time, today, we offer you another step to approach the real thing and to keep the unit versatility.

The main goal is to sell their modellers first too. A cabinet 400€ (+fee for the speaker manufacturer), a Stage/Head ; 1600/1700€.....

In Kemper case, the problem is that they have a cabinet on one side, you have to amplify and the imprint speaker integrated in the profiler itself. All the chain is splitted in three different units (or two with a powerhead/rack).

That choice is coherent and pretty convincing for the trademark when devices work all together.

The best/simplest way to obtain what you want would be to have a device that has the amplify unit (for modelers), the speaker « imprint » inside and the FRFR speaker to reproduce the simulated sound.

As said above, Line 6 has already commercialised that solution with the Powercab family. I don’t know if it works well with traditional amps, i think some owners having already a head have tested this but don’t know the result..... It has 12 speaker simulation and would probably be updated with more in the near futur.

At the end, it doesn’t seem to have attracted a lot of tube owners....

    I have a power cab+ ‘cause i had a Helix before.

They worked very well together and PC+ really improves and brings this « amp in the room feeling » to Helix’s presets.

At first, I started programming midi command to change the cab sim on the PC+. After, L6 updated the Helix’s software to command the PC+ by the input block command. This couple worked very well.

Then, i bought the Stage and tried it on the PC+. I only use it on FRFR mode. I feel that the speaker mode don’t bring so much as before and i was lazy to program midi output too (don’t even know how to do it on the stage ?().

I have just bought a Peavy cab in which i’ve put a Kone. I feed that with a TC électronique BAM 200. The result is pretty convincing !!! It’s easy to program the Imprint per Rig. It sounds great. I haven’t been able to try the difference with the PC+ cause it is at the rehearsal room and we are always in confinement.

I assume the result won’t be better.

I think the PC+ is gonna be on sale sooner.

In my opinion, if you have a Helix -> Go PC+, if you have a Kemper -> buy a Cabinet or a (Two/four) Kone(s).

All the makers develop their « amp in the room speakers » with the base their have and make devices to work very well together. Of course, it will work if you mix the trade marks and devices. But i hear when i set « kemper kone » on and « monitor cab off » a real difference that i don’t know how would the behaviour on another device.

Last point, here, the PC+ is 795€, i’ve paid 430€ for all the devices on the other hand (Peavy cab/Kone/BAM 200 (really small, easy to bring everywhere)) 8o.

For one PC+ price, you can buy two DIY power Kabinet and have stereo. ;)

    It should be Line level.

I’ve got a Motu M4 and there’s no button to press to select Mic/Line/guitar, it’s automatically selected, just have to set the gain level to avoid clipping (as on the M2). Everything can go into the same input.

This is when I realised that the manual is written incorrectly. You can actually turn the gain up quite high, before I perceive any distortion. Try it for yourself. It makes the usual easy output power much greater.

I think you’re right. There’s a translation mistake (even in french). I was surprised the first time i read the manual.

I assume that they wanted to say : « when the led start flashing in red » and come back a little to prevent this. The Red indicator is the clipping start like every FRFR device.

I’ve just tried it with my headphone (too early to play the cab now), and it seems to work with the entire green led without any distortion....

    Thx for your comment ;)

The Peavy closed back cab arrived this week-end with the BAM200.

I was luckier than Sambrox, the back panel wasn’t glued and easy to open. It required me a little time to swap the speaker.

So i took time to paint the grill....I don’t know if it was a good idea ?!:/X/ (I was informed by Kemper « at your own risks »)

I’m not really convinced in the result, bad job, it’s pretty raw, i thought it would be better....

But when you are at a reasonable distance, it’s OK and let clearly appears that it’s a Peavy Cab with Kemper inside ^^:thumbup:

I was not convinced, at first, about the sound, i've tilted the cab to hear better, i couldn’t hear the difference.

After a while, i’ve seen that i was not plugged in the « Monitor » output but in the « main » jack output (i shouldn’t take the habit of XLR :sleeping:).

In the good output, it’s far far better !!!! ^^:D

    Everything's good now.

I was surprised by the BAM’s gain button that i can’t push at a higher level than nine o’clock and the dB level in the Kemper is active for -12db plus my level is at -25/-30dB 8|. Very low.

How do you adjust your levels parameters on the different devices ?

I got around to testing the Kone in the closed back Peavey 1x12 I bought cheap from Thomann (it came with some non-descript no name speaker that I swapped out). The difference between this cab and the matrix one is pretty big. I much prefer the Kone in this cab; the lows are much tighter and in general the sound is more immediate, for want of a better descriptor. I A/B’ed it with my studio monitors, a pair of old Genelec 1031a nearfields and 1094a (I think) subwoofer. It holds up well! The highs are ever so slightly more pronounced on the Kone, but that can be down to the positioning of my monitors compared to the cab in the room. Overall, I’m very happy, even if the Peavey enclosure is rather heavy compared to the NL12. When the Kabinet comes back in stock, I might be tempted to go for one.

I’ve ordered one too. I’ve seen you have the BAM 200. i’ll have exactly the same configuration.

So, how it sounds ? 8o:?:

    Thx

    Hi,

Just seen this vid on UTube from tonejunkie that explains different parameters in Kemper for compression, the place in the chain and the compressor parameter in the amp block.

    Hi all !

I'm new in the Kemper world with a stage (that has known some matters :/) but not in the modeler world, i had a Helix LT before.

There was a billion ways to play with volume in that device....The Kemper brings a lot of possibilities two.

At first, i've set my parameters in the input block and locked it. I've done the same in the performance mode. I play with the clean sense following the guitar...

Then, i've tweaked all my patch and played with the Amp volume to equalize (or not 8)) the volume between all my presets...

Last day, i've played with rig manager to tweak my rigs (thanks a lot Kemper, i love it :love::love:).

I've seen on the Rig block a volume that wasn't set at 0, and noticed that this block is not able to be locked....

So the question is : What is the difference between Amp volume and Rig Volume ? Which one do you use ? Both or only one ?

Honestly stuff like this and the bug I experiences last week is whats convincing me to pick up one of the new Line 6 POD Gos as a backup when they release. For the price, it can't be beat as a backup unit.

    Mine has known two roundtrips....

In fact, i was about to buy a backup but it's hard for me to think so !

I have bought, all over the years, a Boss ME-25 (200$), a L6 firehawk fx (400$), a L6 Helix LT (800$) and never met any problem, it's really hard to admit that i have bought a double price device which is not as reliable X(....And I should/prefer buying other stuffs with the backup price...;)

I've got a PC+ and i've looked for this too.

I assume it's impossible cause the Kone is a 4 Ohms and the speaker into the L6 PC+ is a 8 Ohms.....

The first thing i'm gonna try is the kemper imprints. We can turn the PC+ into the raw modeling (that cuts the tweater), you can adjust the High/low cut, i think it should/can give good results. It'll be the easier/cheapest first test ! ;)
