Hi, i was wondering if the KPA is capable of MIDI Clock sync to an external MIDI device ?

My setup is as follows : Rocktron MIDI Mate (MIDI OUT) > KPA (MIDI In) > KPA (MIDI Thru) > Strymon Timeline (MIDI In) > Strymon Timeline (MIDI Out) > Eventide Space (MIDI In)

The idea is to sync both the KPA and the TimeLine together in order to use Beat Scanner synced with the Timeline. I already control both tempos at the same time from the MIDI Mate (1 single button sending the intel to both devices through CC) but unfortunately, it is never exactly in sync ...

Is that even possible for now ? If no, i really hope it will be added in a next firmware update. (CK if you read me ... )

    Thanks !

I'm positive the manual says this is possible, but i haven't tried it.

The Profiler is capable of receiving MIDI clock only. It does not send.

Where exactly did you see that ? Im curious because like HELL-G says, it seems to be only one sided ... :(

The Profiler does not send any MIDI (clock, PC, CC, etc.) at all.

    It receives MIDI clock.
I guess that's what you want?

    Hi Christoph !

Actually i was expecting the KPA not only receive but also send MIDI Clock in order to sync my external delay pedal along with the KPA, in other words : send MIDI CC from the KPA to the delay pedal in order to use Beat Detection and ease the tap tempo process instead of tapping it directely on the delay pedal itself.
(I already have a button sending CC to my delay pedal, passing through the KPA and activates the tap tempo on the delay.)

This way, everything would be in sync and so all the effects from the KPA that are tempo related would be on the exact same tempo.

Of course we already can program tempo in advance in the KPA for each preset but what about a live situation where you want to use the same profile for various songs and you would like to change the tempo with only one single button to tap in order to have everything in sync ? The point would be an "on the fly" use, to make it more understandable ...!

I don't know if i really made a point here but it makes sense to me, and i really mean that having a MIDI Clock send feature (if that is really feasible) is crucial for artists using a complex rig.

Otherwise in studio this is not necessary at firt sight in my opinion, again this would be for a live purpose only i think.

And i didn't mentionned but i use a Rocktron MIDI Mate to control everything, maybe it makes more sense now !

Anyway, almost 2 years im using the KPA and it really changed my life ! (well, my workflow actually :P )

Many thanks to innovate everyday, this is really appreciated ! Keep the great work !

Actually, Mr CK, it would be great if it would send MIDI clock. It would make the beat detection feature more useful, for one thing.

This is a must have feature for us players who use a lot of external fx. Please add as soon as possible.

I see that my reply here is over a year old now. I can't really use beat detection until this is added. It's a nice feature, but useless to me now.

Pls make sure that both midi outputs (out and thru) will transmit the midi clock (based on an optional setting in the system menu) also, it would be nice if there is a midi merge functionality, copying the data from the midi in port to both midi out and thru ports, based on a optional setting. I'm using both output ports in performance mode, and transmit program changes to both ports (great feature by the way!)

Hope CK is considering it, it would open a lot of possibilities for players having complex MIDI rigs as i do (where the KPA would be the Master Clock and sending KPA Tempo informations to other devices, such as external delay pedals for instance)
