Let's celebrate Valentines Day with a free profile! Our amp tech has been designing some of his own amps lately, from Fender type and beyond. He let us test out his newest high gain prototype and you can try it here for free!

For anyone curious, stop by my tech's website to see some of his work.

I have always preferred studio profiles when recording but so many people like to use IRs.
As we own most of the amps we will update many of the packs with Liquid profiling in mind once released.
Let us know which packs you'd like to see updated and what type of profiles?

I think, I would wait until the release of the tonestack feature to see how it works.
At the moment I'm using
- a studio profile with an IR (yorkshire or ownhammer) to the PA / for recording
- a marshall 4x12 for FUN / at the rehearsal place and small gigs.
It sounds better to me than a DI-profile.

Interesting that you prefer studio profiles with IRs vs direct amp with IR. Good tone is good tone though.
I guess the question is, has the preference shifted from studio to DA profiles in general? The other formats seem to lean this way.
In the past I have focused on studio profiles with a smaller selection of DA. For the last few years I have been experimenting with DA more and am finding the results really good for the right situation.

I'm also using studio profiles with IR's and other cabs. I've always found that I often like the studio version better than the direct version of the same amp from most profilers. And I have not had any issues taking a studio profile and use it with my favorite cabs or IRs.
I don't really care about 'authenticity', what that is anyway. I just hunt for the rig that will get me as close as possible to the ideal versions of the sounds I have in my head.

I don't know why. Direct or merged profiles with IR sound very thin on my setup. Maybe something is wrong with my setup?
In the end: What Janne says: It has to sound good, the rest doesn't really matter to me.

+1 for Studio Profiles

I use studio profiles 99% of the time. But if a merged or direct profile sound as good as a studio profile....If it sounds good.....
