Your clip sounds very good!!, but don't be surprised if anyone posts AXE clips that are very very close to the VH sound, I've heard a few that were very impressive, but I'm not a huge VH guy and don't keep track of who posted it, can't offer any links..

One thing I'm noticing about the 'EQ match' is that if you use a guitar that is very far off from what I used, it doesn't quite work as well.

this is true even before men starting using this approach within hardware modelers, the same applies when using a software modeler within Logic Pro for example with the EQ Match plug-in.
