I don't store because I don't want to overwrite the original or save a duplicate. I want to save what I'm using as a favorite.

Or at least it's hit or miss. Seems like sometimes it does and sometimes it doesn't. Either way, I'm not getting any type of msg after holding it down...I used to get something like "Favorite saved" or something. Any ideas?

The definition parameter is the most important parameter on the Kemper. Can completely change the sound.

Like worn out snarly crapped out sounding?

Yeah - definitely hoping this is coming. Some improvements in Room sounds would be great too.

Damnit...I wanted to hear the profile in comparison...

Holy freaking Catholic Shiite...the Vintage Pack is unbelievably good. MB - amazing. Thank you so much! These profiles are without a doubt as good as recording a real amp in the room. The Champ with the Cab is just freaking delicious. BTW - I'm a writer here in Nashville - remember seeing you guys at the Wildhorse when it first opened...93-ish? That right? Anyway, thank you for doing this - great player and great rep for the industry!

I haven't been following this stuff closely, but are the merged profiles supposed to sound better than the previous ones? Those demo ones sound pretty damn great

Hey Michael - stuff sounds awesome! Any chance to grab a Supro 1694 and one of 3rd Power's new Wooly Coats Princeton thingy's? Those Magic Amps look awesome too - I think Jedd Hughes has the Princeton.

don't laugh, something like this has actually happened
Well, I wouldn't put "user error" past me...That's a dramatic difference, though...

Oh...that's what it is...I'm using a Les Paul on one and a strat on the other...No...
Anyway, i have no idea. I need to try going out analog and digital in the same take and record them. See what it sounds like.

Master output set to master stereo. Sent 1/4" out to to Xlr in of the Symphony. SPDIF is set to master stereo...but my symphony was not slaving to the Kemper. (Which explains the clicks and pops) The Kemper not being able to accept an external clock kind of blows. That wouldn't make any sense when playing a session...might try the XLR to XLR too just to see if they are any different.
Wonder if I can record one take on two separate tracks - one from SPDIF, one from analog? I guess that's how guys reamp. Then we could compare.
-
Going from the Kemper into an Apogee Symphony I/O and man, why is there such a sonic difference between digital and analog? Also, I get pops because I assume the Kemper won't clock off of the Symphony. Hear for yourself. I was kind of shocked.

I think you just kind of have to dial it in for each guitar...which makes for a lot of profiles...

So - I sat down and really dug in today...I have a ton of TAF and Soundside amps...but I really got into the parameters. I started by zeroing everything out - EQ and all amp parameters. Then adding in a tiny bit of verb - ambience/low mix %/Time at around 1.4/Damping high...Then slowly turning the definition up until it sounds the best to my ears for the particular model. Then setting the EQ. Alot of the TAF plugs tend to have two EQ's set...I tended to take the stereo one off and tweak the parametric to take out offending tones - seems like I tended to dial out 10kHz in pretty much everything. Then tweak the Amp EQ to taste.
I'm telling you - I have the baddest ass Fender Super Reverb, AC30 and EC Tremolux (with treble booster) I've heard. Holy shit. I'm gonna follow this process on all of my patches.
OH - another parameter that really, really seems to bring the crunchy, tweeds and blackfaces alive is the "Power Sag"...man, crank that up and you still hear that clean tone behind it...fantastic.
-
Seems kind of obvious to me...switchers, two kempers...it's the ability to run two amps at one time in stereo...

I really dig the Soundside Bassman...but I've yet to really find a Deluxe that is to die for. Any suggestions?
