+1 on the DVP-3. Mine has been working great so far.

Awesome, thank you! I really loved and miss that KHR.

This is an amp I used to own, and I miss it dearly.
@ChopTones, are there profiles in the pack that are non boosted? I loved the sound of the Orange channel (channel 2) on that amp.

The 44Magnum was the first cheap power amp I considered when on the market for one. I preferred to look elsewhere for a number of reasons, but users usually said the volume was not an issue.
The only drawback would be that it's meant to distort at extreme settings, so the nominal power with a device like the Profiler is - generally speaking - unusable. For what it's worth, I personally found the 44 Magnum to be a bit on the dark side, even with the bright switch engaged. Ultimately it was intended as a backup so I was willing to live with that just to get through a gig. But as a primary unit there are probably better options.
That ISP Stealth looks interesting. I've pretty much sworn off carrying my own guitar cabinets due to back injuries. But the Stealth could be useful in situations where I am forced to use existing backline.

Very cool tune, @nakedzen. I dig the whole vibe, and great production.
I missed the Easter egg, and Ed Wood is one of my all time favorite movies. I'll try watching again after coffee kicks in.

I had this happen recently as well, several times during a performance mode editing session. I played around with the LCD contrast knob on the rear side of the remote but it didn't quite fix the issue. I think I wound up restarting the remote by removing and reinserting the cable.
Pray for me this doesn't happen during our gig tonight, it's gonna to be a long one. I may unplug the remote between sets just to make sure.

I turn monitor mode off (switch in the middle) and set the HPF to 100 Hz. YMMV depending on the room and your preferences.

For me, it was Pete Thorn's "To Live & Die in Nashville" where he used a handful of Michael Britt's profiles.

I'm sure there's still plenty of unused DSP power in there, and Kemper has a roadmap on how to fill it. But they're not going to start throwing in features that may haunt them down the road where now they don't have enough DSP for some feature that may be more important than an older one that they would have to deprecate.
I sure hope you're right about the current KPA having DSP to spare. As a new Kemper user my #1 fear is that they release new hardware in the near future with a bunch of cool new features that I will absolutely need.
I know it'll eventually happen. I just hope it's after I've paid off this one.

"What a long strange trip it's been"I only provided my latest rig that was replaced. Trust me, you don't want me to go back through the years to show my progression. Suffice to say I have had so many amps and pedals come in and out of my rig - all in the name of finding the perfect rig - that I've lost count. Took me way too long to get here.
-
I would also love to see some killer Vox AC30 profiles from you @Guidorist.
By the way, your XTC profiles are amazing. I had the good fortune to play the real thing not too long ago and as soon as I tried your profiles I knew you absolutely nailed it. Way to go.

100% agree but on the flip side of that coin, the profiles dont HAVE to sound just like what the real rig sounded like. You can tweak them as though they are the real rig and you have a big window before the tone starts to deviate from what you can do with the real rig. So not only does the Kemper nail getting the real tube amp/cab/mic tone, but we're not locked into an untweakable snapshot which those other guys try to mischaracterize about the Kemper as a last resort to save face
Is that really the criticism being lobbied at the KPA? I am honestly asking because I don't visit other forums. If that is the case that is just silly and misinformed.
While I would agree the KPA may not offer the same level of granular tweaking as the alternative (almost to a fault) I hardly consider the KPA profiles to be a static snapshot. In fact one of my favorite rigs right now is based on a M. Britt profile where I basically tweaked the gain and EQ settings until I found my perfect tone.

This is embarrassing:
- Voc AC30HW
- PRS 2-channel "H" 1 x 12 combo
- Bogner Burnley, Wessex, Harlow pedals
- Keely modded Tube Screamer
- TC Electronic Alter Ego, Shaker Vibrato, Hall of Fame Reverb pedals
- Voodoo Labs Tremolo pedal
- Dunlop 535Q
- Korg Tuner
-
Great thread idea!
From the M. Britt Modern Pack, I am getting a lot of mileage out of the Sure Sonic 50 (profiled Suhr Hedgehog) for 90% of the classic rock we play. I'm also using the CTone SRV profiles for (what else) SRV tunes.
-
Agreed, the /13 sounds really nice with my strat... especially in the 2 pickup position.
This is where I feel the Kemper really shines, and where other modelers and plugins typically fall flat. Those glassy cleans and edge of breakup tones, especially in the "in between" positions.
-
So basically you couldn't find the use for the Marshall at all?
I think the profiles I used would need some tweaking to make them sound right with my band. I think the tones were solid - they certainly sounded great when I auditioned them at home - but needed some EQ'ing I suppose.
-
A different guitar in each shot = classic Poison move. Love it.
-
Cool, I cannot wait to try this out.
-
Splendid work! Great tones abound.

Nice work! I have been toying with this idea for years now, just can't find anyone to help me indulge my 80's rock star fantasy.
