When it's too late to play loud in the house, you mute the speakers and go into cans!

He's talking about: https://www.kemper-amps.com/rig/exchange
I agree @lespauled, it would be cool if RE had this info.Ah I see, thank you for that.
Just one question (rhetorical) Why would you use the website when the same data (aka Rig Exchange - plus a few few other things, like gain) are available via Rig Manager? -
Works for me
-
I would love an option on RE that shows the gain setting for a profile, like they do in RM.
Right click in the top bar and the option to show gain setting (along with a lot of other stuff) should come into view.

Try a Fuchs ODS50. There's one on the Rig Exchange by Zoltan1957 and Mike Britt also has one in his D pack. Works really well with an L4 and Epiphone Joe Pass. There's an upper mid thickness to the sound which, IMHO, does the job. Skål!

They're up there now so, no more than 15 mins!

The Wah effect is very complex, none of the parameters make sense without some sort of guide. This is why I just said "fuck it" and use the Crybaby preset on everything.
Here's a list of various Wah settings that @Monkey_Man has organised ... Don't despair!, the second post in the thread has a link to a zip file and instructions on how to load it ... well worth the effort (I too, found the wah parameters a bit oddball) HTH

Something that has just come to my mind - when you refer to the particular slots (X, Mod, as well as the A - D ones), I understand that the KPA allows you to select its internal fx and assign them one per each slot as part of your own rig. Is the same true for the external fx? What I am asking is this: would I be able to assign an external fx signal coming from the fx loop to a stomp slot on the KPA (mentioned above) and save it as a separate/distinct rig for future use?
Only in as much as you can treat the loop (in your case the stereo loop - having scrubbed the mono idea) as an effect to be placed in either the X or Mod slots and yes, you can save this on a per rig basis. Mine is permanently in the X slot and I decide what state the slot is in (on or off) before I save the rig. That way when you change rigs the fx will be on or off as required in it's initial state. You can then alter said state via your controller.

If I were to put the OD in the fx loop of the KPA, would you recommend - based on your experience - putting them in front of the modulation fx sequence, or after? I understand that this is not exactly a KPA-specific question, but the more info I have at hand, the better, so thank you in advance!Ok , my advice above still stands but... IF and only IF (!) you want to run an external chain of all your pedals, then I would put the OD in front of your mod/del/rev etc. However ... There is, as you know, only one loop available. So, you can put it in front of the stack (the 'amp') in stomps A-D, but everything would be in mono (not ideal for your stereo fx) or you could place it after the stack in the X or mod slot but the your od would be after the 'amp', also not ideal. This is why the general feeling is to have the od in front of the KPA and the time-based stuff in the X (or mod) slot after the stack. That said, there is nothing to stop you trying any position/order of external fx. The only limitation being that you only have one loop to play with.
FWIW, I use an eventide H9 in the X slot (in mono, cos I'm lazy - cables!) which works well as the signal is s stereo'ed (if that is a word) by either/or the KPA's mod, delay or reverb. Also, I don't have the H9 hooked up to MIDI, so it's patches are independently selected via an up/down foot switch and it is brought in and out of play by the X slot as required.
I tend to use different 'amps' (in a performance) for general clean/edge/crunch/lead. For my 'chugging' (quick or otherwise) I use an Orange amp 'pushed', if required with a clean boost)
I think what I'm trying to say, is try everything! You might hit on something unconventional that you like, regardless of the approval of others. If it works, don't fix it. If it doesn't, start again, AT-V -
I agree with what @Ingolf says above. I also use a Greenback but in a Vox Night Train cab. It can 'bark' a little when pushed hard but a small roll off of -1 treble and -1 presence (in the output menu - Monitor) seems to ease that. It's plenty loud for small gigs too. For bigger gigs, I have the same cab with a 200W EV12L (taken from a MkII Boogie - 30 years ago!). That's a nicely balanced speaker and it can go loud enough to have the sound engineer come down to the stage and negotiate!

TBH ... I don't use a drive in front (I have experimented with them), only a Freqout (which IMHO, works better there). My response above was for @mmmaslowski 's benefit as he has a 'favourite' drive already. My favourite built in stomp drive is the Mouse, particularly a nicely tweaked version al la klon, which I found here on the forum.

Nice one ... just what I needed after a day's banjo bashing! #listenedtotheend

Thanks for that @Bommel ... I feel a purchase coming on!

yes of course
i already made a lot of them
https://www.dropbox.com/sh/ta4…tdXbZBBdE2jIRStSXb0a?dl=0Is it the case that the Tone Dexter wavemap and therefore its profile would work best with the instrument that was used to create the wavemap. Other instruments would work (or not) by chance?

You could put a tuner (one that mutes when active e.g. TC) in line before the Kemper.
So, starting with Gtr A: activate tuner (muted), unplug, swap to Gtr B, plug, (check tuning), Unmute and off you go.
This avoids multiple leads, having to label them, potential tangles and also allows a greater number of instruments than the number of switcher channels available
Yes, I have tried the Switcher routine (Lehle) but found it a PITA!
just a thought

On a Mac ( mine are minis), it's possible to connect the Kemper S/PDIF via a converter (SP/dif to Toslink) and use the Mac's 3.5mm audio input which is also a digital input.
I've used an M-audio Digipatch (discontinued) with success and there is also a gadget from Lindy which should work.
Its a stereo input going begging. Just a thought ... -
Every professionals DAW is capable of working at at least 96k.
The Kemper really should as well IF they expect professional use over digital connections. If not, or if there is a technical reason it’s only working at 48k internally, then I’m fine using it over external analogue conversion
