What model of KPA, and what firmware are you on now?

Maybe someone from Kemper can jump in on an update! From the sounds of it there not close!
From what I understand over the last couple of years, Kemper says what they're going to do, and then they do it.
Time frame = when it's ready.
-
Powered cabs later... perhaps
-
Wow the SD700 has some output! Was looking to maybe run two 2x12 cabs..... just read up on the Kemper Kone.....wonder how far out is that and will it be offered as cab or just the speakers
They said originally that there would be passive cabs. Also they said we could get raw speakers to put in the cabs of our choice.
I'd like to try one in my MBritt, and in my 2x12
-
Yup, it's a stereo amp, and it uses the same Icepower modules that the Kemper does.
I'm using powered speakers right now with my unpowered Toaster... XiTone MBritt, or Bose L1, or Yamaha DXR10.
Wanting to wait and see what the Kemper Kone brings.

Lots of choices out there... but if I find myself in that position I might look at the Seymour Duncan Powerstage 700.
-
When I saw Dweezil Zappa he played amazingly, but his tones really lacked the tube warmth and presence that I'm used to with the Kemper. I might try to contact him and offer to run his guitar sound for a few nights, with his tech learning the system. ?
I was at Dweezils very first band camp in 2010.
He had just started using the original Axe-FX.

Dude, That video is me!What a coincidence.LOL Yeah, Im gonna re-load previous OS.....
Thanks man!
I know! A little Sherlocking was all it took.

Just new to Kemper i can't belive a 7 years old product has not yet got a software editor. I sold my stupidly expensive Axe Fx to move for a cheap amp simulator which is Bias Fx and both had editor it's realy sad bc its a downgrade compare to the other i'm not event talking about Helix. I honestly barely used it since i got it it's not as convinient as i thought it was to dial direclty on the unit, the small screen doesn't handle well all the informations and make it unclear to setup for a good tone.
No sense complaining. It'll be here in 30 days or so.
Next week for all I know.

Can you recommend a Bluetooth to MIDI adaptor?
I bought this one...
https://www.amazon.com/Yamaha-…aha+md%2Caps%2C223&sr=8-1
It sticks out of the ports a couple of inches, but works well.
-
Thank you for the reply.
What actual hardware do you need? You need the bluetooth to midi adaptor, and a phone or tablet with bluetooth, that's it besides the Bandhelper app.
I also bought a tablet holder for my mic stand.
-
Hi dmatthews , did you ever get this to work satisfactorily? I've been looking at Bandhelper and wondering whether it could be useful for me.
Yes, I did.
I've been using this without problem over the last 5 practices (one a week), and at home just playing around.
Certainly a different playing and work flow. Before this method I'd use Bandhelper only for lyrics, and only for those songs my brain can't remember.
Now I use it for every song whether I sing it or not. So you sort of trade the button mashing on the remote for scrolling in the app.
The nice thing about the app is that the screen never turns off or goes dim. Make sure your device has a good sized battery.
Also, the choice of bluetooth adapter doesn't stick in the app. Each time you run the app you have to pick the adapter again. No biggie, but thought I'd mention it.
As I said, it is very stable.

PRS soapy and Kemper... I'm good. Sounds great.

Apart from that it's been ok through 2 practices so far. Not sure I'd gig with it though.

Yup, there's 8 SLO-100 profiles in there.
-
I don't think it matters. That being said, I leave the mains for FOH if needed, and monitor for my backline

Love the Band Aid tone enhancers.
I need something to Aid my Band!

that’s exactly the same issue as using a 4x12 onstage too. The sound doesn’t fully develop until about 20 -30’ in front of the cab which is way beyond where most of us stand when playing. Add that to the fact that most of the sound is traveling past us at below waist height and it’s little wonder sound guys are always complaining the guitar is too loud on stage ?
I used to run a 50w combo on top of a 2x12, resulting in 3x12.
Angling the combo a little it covered the stage nicely. That being said, oddly the sound sort of crawled halfway into the room and promptly keeled over and died on the floor.
The difference between the Bose and the MBritt is quite noticeable. The Bose sounds great on the stage, and the "stick" has a lot to do with that. It also sounds great out in the room, but does seem to peter out about 75% of the way near the back of the studio.
The MBritt wants to run all the way to the back of the room and jump out the window!
More testing required.

Maybe this'll help...

Try putting the kaos.bin in the root of the USB stick?
What version are you on now?
-
Last night I changed over from the Bose to the XiTone MBritt at practice.
Wow, does it ever reach deep into the room!
Standing 6' in front of it while the cab is sitting on the floor of the stage, I dialed it to where I thought it should be volume wise.
Then I stepped off the stage and into the crowd area. Holy crap! Way better out there, and much louder!
The stage is only a 6 - 8" rise!
Hmmm... might need to raise it a bit so I can get a better sense of what the audience hears.
