Oof. I was juuuust jamming on some Tone Mister A profiles and it did not sound like that. :/

Strange. Almost sounds like the cab was off (not quite that drastic) but I see you’ve checked a lot of things.

Is your Lock button lit up?

Really? What guitar and speaker are you using? :/

Yeah it's definitely not turned off, I made sure of it :(

It is, I've locked a studio EQ in the X slot that I only use for high gain profiles (had it off for all the samples provided in this thread though). :/

Sounds like there may be something strange going on in your interface settings or monitors settings. Alternatively it could be you room. You could be listening in a spot in the room with serious comb filtering due to reflected sound cancelling or boosting the effect of direct sound.

My room is not treated in any way, but I've tried my setup in other rooms, at a friends place and even outside. I've tried low volumes and almost maxed everything out but still has the very same issue. I tried bypassing the 6i6 going with my HS8's from the main KPA outputs to find that it still persists. ||

I'm starting to wonder if my expectations are unrealistic and that I have spiced my memory up a bit from trying it in the store. :/

I sent a message to support a few months back where they reamped a DI and compared it to my KPA, there was a slight difference in sound but not a lot. Think I forgot to get back to them now that I think about it.

    Hey guys! :)

I've been on and off thinking somethings wrong with my Kemper as of late or it might be my ears. :/

I have tried a lot of profiles, all the stock profiles, paid MBritt, Tone Junkie, Sinmix, ReAmpZone, Live Ready Sounds and more and all I'm getting is a thin sound that makes the tweeters crackle at times while playing. I feel like almost every mid- to high gain profile sounds the same, I can get some nice sounds out of it but it reminds me of when I had a Fullbore Metal pedal into my first amp, a Spider Line 6 75W.

Below are a few audio samples using different Profiles on my Gibson LP Studio 2018, bridge humbucker with tone knobs at max in standard tuning.

I have the following setup and routing ---- Guitar --> Front Input on the KPA --> Scarlett 6i6 via SPDIF --> DAW.

I have two Yamaha HS8's connected to the 6i6 via two TRS cables.

Regarding the sound and what I've tried

    - Restored it to factory default and from a backup file

    - Turning Purecab on and off, different levels etc

    - Noise Gate in stomp slots at different levels etc

    - Fiddled around with definition and clarity

    - Switching Cabs

    - Fiddling with both the front EQ's and the EQ

    - Clean and Distortion Sense

    - Using different Drives, Boosts and Dist stomps in the stomp section

    - Lowering/increasing output levels in the output section (also turned purecab on and off here)

    - Hooked my Kemper into another set of Monitors and into a Orange PPC212 CB cab

    - Made sure that I'm not using a profile without a cab in the cab section

    - Tried High/Low shift in the Cab Section

    - Tried a High/Low pass in the X-slot

    - Switching ALL cables

    - Switching guitars, EC-1000 with EMG's, Solar with SD-pickups, Jackson JS32T with stock pickups, Yamaha TRBX505 Bass Guitar

    - Tried different power outlets

    - Bought a power conditioner

None of the above has helped.

I am fully aware of that the KPA should sounds like a mic'd amp and not an actual amp-in-the-room feeling when using studio monitors.

Using direct profiles with my PPC212 through a Baby Bomb 30 does make it sound fuller, but I'm still not getting much of a difference.

I know that demos can lie and that many youtube videos aren't very representative but I'm not getting near that tonal difference between profiles that I've heard in the store before purchasing it or in youtube videos (I did try the powered KPA in the store through a PPC212 but went with the unpowered one).

Is it my ears? Could something be wrong with my KPA? Is it my playing? :/
Am I making an excuse for not practicing enough? :/ Do the stock profiles sound close to my recordings for the rest of you?

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. :)

Aye Morph I've managed to get everything setup correctly apart from getting the signal from the DI-track back into the Kemper for reamping. I'm getting a constant high-pitched sound, I guess I'm not assigning the correct output from the 6i6 back into the Kemper. In my head I'm thinking the DI track is on, say track number 5; that should be set as the S/PDIF Output - Ext. Out. And the new reamped signal should come from the "regular" processed signal on, say track 4. I have changed the input setting to "Reamp S/PDIF source" or whatever it's called (not sitting near my toaster atm.) :) Is that the correct way or have I done something wrong? :)

Sorry if I'm not being clear enough

    Okey so if I want to be able to record the processed signal and the DI signal I have to do following;

S/PDIF OUTPUT on the 6i6 to ---> S/PDIF IN on the Kemper.

S/PDIF OUT on the Kemper to ---> the S/PDIF IN on the 6i6.

How do I split the signal so I get the DI signal, is that possible via S/PDIF? Or is that done via TRS/XLR from the Direct Output on the Kemper to the front input on the 6i6?

Is that all the cable routing that needs to be done? Or do I need to put an XLR into the return input of the back of the Kemper? I'm so confused. :/

I'm lost on the cable routing and on the software routing. I did manage to get sound into Ableton, but even when I enabled all outputs and inputs the playback was only fed to the monitors and not back into the kemper after selecting "Reamp" Input on the Kemper Input Setting?

Truly appreciate all help with this, sorry for bothering you Morph :)

    Hey guys!

Been loving my kemper so far; decided to upgrade my audio interface to a Scarlett 6i6 so that I can reamp stuff. I've found some guides but apparently the 2nd gen uses a different control program which none of the videos show which makes me somewhat confused. Should be added that I'm a TOTAL newbie when it comes to this kind of stuff. :P

    So I've got the kemper spdif out to the 6i6 spdif in and;

The 6i6 spdif out to the kemper spdif in.

Now inside the program called "Focusrite Control" I'm stuck. I've read through a lot on Focusrite's homepage; both at this page - https://support.focusrite.com/…n-my-Focusrite-interface- ||| and also on - https://support.focusrite.com/…ce-when-re-amping-guitars and -

I'm totally lost. Tried reading some other guides on the kemper forums but I literally can't wrap my head around it.

If I've understood everything correctly, the 6i6 should be set to 44.1 kHz and the clock source to be spdif. I've got that going and it's synced, so I'm now getting the sound from the kemper to the audio interface and out through my HS8's connected to the 6i6.

In the output menu I've set the SPDIF output to be stereo, not sure if that's correct. :/

I saw some other videos of people using the main output, direct output and return input with TRS cables but I'm guessing that's because they don't use spdif? :/

I'm sure this question has been asked a thousand times and I apologize for not being able to find another appropriate question here on the forums but I simply can't bloody find it.

    Here's a picture of how it looks inside Focusrite Control;

    From what I can understand I need to split these like this;

After that I have no bloody clue as to what I have to do.

I read through Michael_dk guide ; Guide: Focusrite Saffire / Mixcontrol Reamping ||| and I really wish I could wrap my head around it, but I can't. Might be tired after work but I'd really like to have this set up and running TONIGHT! ^^

I'll leave this here and hope I get some help, otherwise I'll just sleep on it and I might actually understand the guide tomorrow when I wake up. ||:sleeping:

Jeez... Either way, thanks in advance! 8)

Will give that a try GearJocke :)

Matthew uses EMG 81/85 pickups while I have the 81/60 EMG's, same shape and wood in the guitars nakedzen :)

Bommel I'd be honored if you want to spend even more time on helping me out! :saint: That bass profile you made me is a killer! Been playing so much bass the last couple of hours my missus is pissed! ^^8o

Eltzejupp I'm currently using two Yammy HS8:s, I know they're not top of the line but to my ear they sound amazing so I don't think the problem is on that end! :) I still lack that sort of "a fist in the face" kind of punch that I got out of my previous amp :(

Sorry for not replying! Haven't been able to try it out properly until now.

I'm really shit at dialing in tone for bass as I'm a newbie to the instrument, but oh my Bommel , you are a bloody genius!

I just played along to the song with that profile and it's goosebumps all the way!

I can't say this enough; THANK YOU SO MUCH MY MAN! I haven't been this hyped since I learned the Seek & Destroy intro when I was a kid! ^^

    I hear you! ^^

I just started playing bass and I've always used picks when playing guitar so playing a 5 string bass without a pick is quite the challenge for me haha! :P

Don't worry, I'm so thankful for you to even consider giving me a hand buddy! :) The Kemper forums and the groups on FB are amazing! So many kind and helpful people in one place is just phenomenal. Thank you once again Bommel for helping a newbie out! ^^

Hey paults :) I've used those for a few days now, I enjoy them but I want to try out more stuff! :)

Bommel I'm currently trying to learn "Thrown Into The Fire" with Trivium, so if you have any suggestions on how to get close to that I'd be forever grateful! ^^

Other than that I'm interested in a rich clean bass profile with depth and that juicy kind of sound if you know what I mean? :)

Also, is there an easy way to sort bass and guitar profiles? It's a total mess in my toaster at the moment! :D

    Cheers guys!

    Hey guys!

Making my first two threads on the forum in one day! :)

I play all sorts of genres and I got myself a Yammy TRBX 505 a few weeks back. Not looking for a specific amp, but I would love to try out some free profiles that you guys think are awesome.

Everything from clean to Meshuggah-kind-of heavy is of interest! ;)

    Cheers in advance!
