Can anyone persuade me either way?
I'll be using it for direct profiles (loaded down head, post power tube tone) into a real cab
I keep thinking matrix...cause it has some "voodoo"...but I'm leaning towards Camplifier cause it'l fit in my non powered Kemper and be an all in one thing...and I have this feeling that it really doesn't matter, it's all solid state anyways, the real voodoo is in the profile......
I was going to suggest that if form factor is primary consideration, go for the Camplifier. Not too familiar with the Matrix amps, though I have heard good things about them. Should have a bit more power than the Camplifier too, but the Camplifier nevertheless gets my vote, seems like an elegant solution.
Isn't the GM50 the power amp module that you install in the back of your cab? It's just as elegant a solution as the Camplifier but it is dependent on you keeping your cab. I'd want to try any cab I was fitting it in with a Matrix power amp before installation but it could create a really nice powered guitar cab/powered frfr cab.
News to me, I thought there was only that Ice thingie and the Camplifier that fit snugly into the back of the Kemper. Sounds interesting.
Other apparent plusses for the camplifier are IMO that you can choose which model to buy and they can be used in stereo
How about Matrix GT800FX or GT1000FX? They are both good, although i prefer GT800FX. They both are one rack size poweramps. I use Matrix with 2x12 EVM12L -cabinet. Also tried Matrix Q12A FRFR active cab, but that was not my cup of tea...
