Everything sounds slow and deep..
I have an RME babyface as my interface with the HS8's as my monitors, and I would like to use my studio monitors as my computer speakers for gaming etc also..help?
Can I run my studio monitors as my main speakers whilst running SPDIF?

Welcome!
Yes you can, of course. -
Can you provide more detail?
My monitors are always hooked up to my computer via 1/8" and then both the computer and my Kemper via USB - no problems here.

ill run you through the steps, and where i end up with trouble.
step 1 - kemper to interface via SPDIF
step 2 - change clock source to optical in (kemper?)
step 3 - set the playback device via control panel to my interface (where my speakers are connected to)
step 4 - everything sounds slower and deeper.do i need to connect my computer directly to the speakers via an alternative method?

Kemper's S/Pdif isn't optical, and what you're looking for is 'external sync' in your interface, not the Kemper.
If your sync is off, it might cause the problem you're describing.
