Building an FRFR Guitar Cabinet! Advice Needed!

How expensive is the speaker? You may be happier if you spend the money on a non-powered monitor cabinet that was specifically designed to be accurate with the internal components already in the cabinet.

What would you guys recomend as a 1x12 ? I was thinking of making up a cab with a 1x12 Celestion GT12-65 Heritage but my engineer is trying to convince me to go for as close to a Hi Fi speaker as possible...Am running through the Ambrosi unit

If you like the sound of the Kemper through studio monitors and/or the PA, I suggest a Yamaha DXR10 or Atomic CLR for onstage, instead of a guitar cabinet. No need to tweak rigs that already sound good with one of these

Have you looked after the project of kpa-solutions.com to build a coax speaker and a tweeter into a Palmer 1x12" cab?

A very good FRFR for 314.- Euro and a few hours of DIY work.

Yeah, it's a nice solution.
The cost depends on your location, of course. I'm in EU and it still cost me 425 E.

If you look at the specs I think the camper plus kit uses a KH 200 TC. When you use the GRFR input on it only this speaker is used not the tweeter.

I thought firmware 3.0 will solve this...allowing you to run a standard cabinet and FOH simultaneously. No need for a FRFR?

While Direct Amplifier profiles made with 3.0 will contain no mic or cabinet tone, and they can be part of a Merged Profile, this does not affect whether or not some will prefer to use FRFR.

If every sound someone wants works with one guitar cabinet onstage ( Marshall into the onstage 4-12, Vox into the onstage 4-12, Fender into the onstage 4-12, etc) they may be happy with a guitar cab onstage.

If they want to hear the sound of the cabinet change along with the profile, or they want to hear the same thing as FOH, an FRFR cabinet will give those results.

to the OP: keep in mind that a single 12" transducer will never be "full range": you'd need to at least add a tweeter.
also, if you used a tweeter, a 12" transducer and a well-designed crossover, good chancer are you cab would not be "FRFR" anyway, because the internal geometries would impart specific resonances.
Not a trivial project, if you ask me
