Hi!
I use both FRFR and guitar cabs with my KPA and I've using old non-merged profiles with my guitar cab as there are only a few low to mid gain merged profiles available. Does it sound good? Yes, but not always and it's a hit a miss and I've always had the impression that many of the non-merged profiles changed significantly their amp character when playing through a guitar cab. I know that different cabs can make an amp sound very different, but I wanted to check the difference between studio and merged profiles when played through the same guitar cab (with cab switched off in the KPA, of course). So, I did some profiles and then reamped a track through them.
Here is the test. Maybe, some people will choose the sound of the studio profile. I prefer the merged one as sound exactly as the amp through that cab and I listen some phase problems in the studio one when running through the same cab used to profile.
So, I wan't low to mid gain merged profiles!!
