I currently have a Kemper remote, but it only has 4 buttons with which to activate Stomps and Effects. I would like to be able to have access to all 8 slots. Any suggestions for a footswitch that I can add along with the Kemper remote so that I can achieve this?

You could use two Boss FS-7 Dual Footswitches, or get something from one of the custom builders on eBay or . Or you can build one - it is a simple circuit. Here is the two footswitch circuit - you could make two boxes, or mount two of these circuits in one box.
The Footswitches are SPST Momentary.

I should mention that I have two Boss FS-6 footswitches already and I find it cumber some. To be able to use it, you need to plug in both A & B which takes up two jacks on the Remote. If you use two FS-6s then you will use up all 4 jacks on the Remote and have none left for expression pedals (I use 2 expression pedals as well).
Would a MIDI footswitch be a better solution?

You can use a dual mono TS 1/4" to single Stereo TRS 1/4" cable to connect each FS-6 to one of the Remote Inputs.

MIDI would have to connect to the back of the KPA, and it would be problematic to find a four button MIDI footswitch with assignable CC outputs. -
Another useful bit of knowledge, shared from Kemper or anyone else's experience, is to know the optimal value of a pot for connecting, i.e. 10k linear, etc (that was just a value plucked out of the air as I don't actually have any insight into this myself, as of yet)

Cool. I didn't know that. I'll have to try that.

Anyway, are you aware you can assign up to 4 fx to each button, regardless their initial state?
-
Yes, but I am looking for one button to correspond to each Stomp & Effects slot, not one button to activate multiple Stomps/Effects.

Yep, got it

More stomp/effect buttons =>

I think the most usable thing is a midi connection. For those, who are able to do some DIY-Stuff i have a nice project.
There are existing several models of the arduiono chip. I'm trying actually the Arduino Nano (5 EUR). In addition with
a breadboard, some cables, some switches and a midi-plug you can programm it via usb and tell the arduino what
to do when you use a switch. And this todo can be one or more midi CP's or CC's. Even several CC's at once to
control the looper. Also you can use pots for example to intergate a wah-pedal. -

For a very cheap cost and a bit of know how, it could be useful as a simple midi controller for some other projects too. Let me know how you get on and what you manage to achieve.

Yes, i think i will need a few weeks and when i'm ready i will post the details for rebuild by interested users.
At the moment i'm able to make program changes with my kemper. And when i'm ready i hope i can most
things the kemper remote does. Except reading out the display and the tuner. But perhaps that can be done too.My final idea is to integrate this DIY-Remote in my Line6 HD 400. Then i will have a backup guitar modeler if
my kemper fails and i can use the HD 400 as a Kemper remote. I will open a certain thread if i can tell more.
