I have a Kemper lunchbox and use Logic Pro. I'm thinking of buying the Apollo Twin Duo Thunderbolt interface and would like to use spdif to connect the pair to free up the analog inputs and avoid more ADA conversion. Does anybody have any experience using the Kemper with the Apollo. I would be grateful for any opinions and tips and alternatives. I'm currently using the Duet 2 but would like the thunderbolt facility and access to the UAD plugins. Thanks.

I have an older Apolllo. it works fine, no issues I don't have thunderbolt

I use the apollo twin duo with the kemper and a macbook pro when I'm not in my home studio. Works great. If you want to connect it with spdif you need a converter, since the Apollo Twin only has optical spdif input and the kemper has coax spdif output. At home I'm using a apollo 8 where you don't have to use a converter since it has spdif coax in and out. The Analog Inputs on the twin habe great audio quality so you don't have to use spdif....

Thanks for this. I wanted to record digitally so I could physically free up the analog inputs for other functions. Do have any suggestions for convertor boxes as I didn't get much sense out of UAD tech support! I was looking at the attached but didn't know whether it was suitable?

I bought this one used on ebay:
M-Audio CO2 Digital Audio Format Converter and S/PDIF & AC-3
Works great. But I think the Lindy should also work...

Thanks. The MAudio is difficult to obtain as it has been discontinued for some time now so I've ordered the Lindy and a couple of cables. Fingers crossed!

Will you let me know how it goes with the Lindy? I have an Apollo Twin also and would like to use the spdif.
Thanks!

I will.
