the clip broke on the side that plungs into the kemper and I've had it less than a year. should I even bother? it still works and plugs in but it doesn't snap lock into place. thanks yall!

They should replace it if you email them.

The Kemper-side is the weak point. The remote-side is a different beast. A cable without a lock is never nice. The remote gets its power through the cable. I would rather get a replacement.

Take the cable to any half decent computer shop, this should be the easiest and fastest and cheapest fix you had in ages. It's a standard RJ45 connector that costs a few cents and with the right ethernet crimping tool it takes a few seconds to put a new connector.

Thanks y'all! if I take it to a computer shop, I might even get them to shorten it a bit. then I could maybe have 2 cables? Fingers crossed! I know the remote side has that mega latch but a regular ether net cable should work the same ,ya?

I would email them and ask if they replace under warranty. Perhaps they will just send you another one. If you can / want to keep the old, there are clips to replace the snapper without even changing the hole plug. Someone here once posted that in a thread for a similar problem.. but I can't find that at the moment.

Personally I wouldn't cut up the factory cable to shorten it. Just replace the busted end jack.
If a shorter cable is needed, just buy a cheap ethernet cable for a few bucks. Will work like a dream.

it looks like it might be modular and can just slide out to be replaced. Easy breezy

I've not had this problem yet, but it seems the easiest way is to purchase an RJ45 repair clip. do a search, very easy to find.
I hope this helps -
