Clean boost in front to tighten tone?

    My favourite clean boost pedal has always been the TC electronics line driver/booster… Made back in the 1980s…
    What would you guys suggest would be closest to this just to drive the front-end a little bit… hoping to tighten the bottom end. I’m not familiar at all with any of the boosts in the Kemper or even how much to set them at.

    Play around with the onboard boosters and the tube screamer to get a feel what they do. Everytime in front of the amp. Use the default settings and change slightly the volume parameter. Next is to get experience with the tone parameter.


    For tighten up the tone i often use only the compressor parameter in the amp section. It has nothing to do with a normal compressor fx. Check it out.


    To tighten a cleansound check out the compressor in front of the amp.
