Loud noise when reamping with S/PDIF

  • Hi everyone,

I have a super weird issue with a really high pitched noise when trying to reamp.

    My equipment:

    Kemper

    Focusrite Scarlett 6i6

    Reaper DAW

I set up everything just like in the manuals. 44.1Khz and Synced. S/PDIF connected correctly IN/OUT. recorded DI very well.

now here's where it gets bad:

In Reaper, I have the DI sent to S/PDIF, then in kemper my input is S/PDIF REAMP.

I added a new track to Reaper and set the Input to S/PDIF in. Kemper S/PDIF out is Master Mono (But it happens with all types of outputs)

Below is a video demonstrating the sound I get whenever trying to record a reamped sound:

Please save me, I'm trying to figure it out for a few hours already!

  • Thats a feedback loop. The problem is your routing between your daw and your audio card. Got nothing to do with the Kemper and spdf...

solution draw the route of your signal... study the audio cards and the daw

then plug it to the kemper

  • Hey there, can you make some sort of tutorial, how did you make it? The Focusrite Control simply makes no sense for me :D Thanks
