Can I put an EQ on reverb?

  • Hello all,

I like to play ambient music with generous amounts of delay and natural reverb. With certain guitars however (my strat is the worst offender) the high mid frequencies in the reverb itself get out of control.

I know you can put a low pass filter on the reverb, and use high decay to get rid of that kind of thing, but I find it kills all the sparkle and liveliness of the reverb to do it that way.

So my question is this - is there any way to apply the Studio EQ to a specific effect so I can use it to tame just the high mids in the natural reverb? I’ve looked in the manual but can’t find a way to pull this off.

    Thanks in advance.

  • Nope

    I think it´s possible:

put the Studio EQ in the Delay Slot, make sure Mix is at 100%,and a Reverb in the Reverb Slot.

Than go to "Rig Settings" and turn "DLY+REV Routing" all the way to the right.

Now your Guitar tone isn´t altered by the EQ, but you can Filter out any frequencys you dont want to go to the reverb.
