Profile options to add a pedal?

I want to know your experiences / opinions about what is the best profile to add a pedal. Amp-cab only, to add my pedals. I have a Blackstar HT Dual and Plexitone. I know it can be a matter of taste, but still I would like to know opinions.
I did one test connecting the HT Dual between guitar and Kemper. I have read that there is another way to connect. Opinions?

Have you any comments on where to connect the pedal?
As I said before, I tried connecting it between the guitar and the Kemper. I think that can be connected in the loop of Kemper.
Is that correct? This form of connection improves anything?
Some experience yours?
