Maybe I am stupid and this option is available already and I just can't find it. But it would be really important to me to have the SPDIF L signal carry the pure Guitar signal for later reamping and the SPDIF R Signal carry a mono sum of the Stereo Output including everything from the Effects section.

When you press MASTER you get to a menu where you can specify what signal SPDIF (and the other outputs) carries.
-
Yeah, of course I know that - pretty obvious. But there's no option for having the complete Mono Out summed on R and Guit DI on L - that's why I ask....
-
There is only Guit DI / Mod Mono. Which is quite close to what you want except that the signal is tapped behind the Mod slot, without the delay and reverb. But isn't it quite handy to have delays and reverb in the monitor while the recording cuts it out in order to do echoes and the roomsound later on the DAW?
-
Yeah, I am using the MOD out right now - but it'd be nice as well to use the Kemper Delay and Verb summed to Mono as well - cause sometimes you'd want (at least myelf) to commit to a sound and not care about adding delay, verb later in the mix. It's not a big thing, but I really like to record leads for example with a little touch of delay and verb and call the lead sound done....
-
Well, I thought it is not a good idea to have the delay and especially the reverb recorded in mono.
-
Well, I think at least the delay would be real cool to have available at the SPDIF out in addition to the Guit DI....
-
+1 for a mono reverb as well, I have often recorded (in a complex mix) a single mono guitar w\ native reverb and delay. Would be a nice option
-
+1 on this as well,
I will ask the Kemper People when I see them at Namm, as well -

I would also like the option to record the effects section summed to mono alongside the DI. Especially the delay. Stereo guitar effects mostly clutters a busy mix anyway.
-
Just to be curious...is there some problem to sum stereo signal to mono in DAW? Of course you need one track more....
-
If we added all these little options here and there, you all would hate the Profiler in the end due to its complexity
-
I don't get it. If you want to record the guitar sound, then what's the need for the DI? Or vice versa? I'm saying this only based on the OP's requirement of retaining the original guitar signal complete with delay and reverb.
-
I think both arguments are valid. While Delay and Reverb do not make much sense in mono, it might be helpfull to have them as some sort of "preview". Especially when you are tracking solo stuff and do not use DAW plugins.

Just use another output with delay and reverb active. You can record just the DI signal with the SPDIF while monitoring with all FX using the main outputs.

When I record to DAW, I only use one channel of the SPDIF output, which works well (I never use reverb when recording the Kemper anyway). The problem is when I want to take a DI of the signal through the SPDIF at the same time, I am no longer able to record the delays.
Granted, this is not a big problem; I could always use the analog DI out of the Kemper, but this would tie up one of the six analog inputs on my audio interface. I could also add the delay later, with a plug-in, but it's more work. Again, it is not a big problem, and I think the Kemper, in terms of both sound and functionality is miles ahead anything else I've tried in the guitar processor category.

For me, mono delay and reverb makes perfect sense in dense mixes. A mono reverb behind a snare drum, for instance, leave more space at the sides for other parts.
-
Like i said, i never record any FX when tracking, so "git/stack" is totally ok for me. But for some users it might be a good idea to change "git/mod" to "git/mono" and include delay and reverb there.

Great advice! I didn't think of that. Thanks!
