Is there a proper way to correctly connect both 1/4" mains or XLR's to a single xlr to get a summed signal? I only connect one XLR to the FOH but the delay settings really sound full (because of the right/left signal) when going through both outputs. Any ideas to do this correctly?

No need to do it, assign "Master Mono" to the direct out and use a normal 1/4 to XLR cable

+1.
The master menu is quite powerful and obviously often overlooked..
Switch main outputs to master mono and you're done. -
Never ever sum two outputs of any device with a Y cord..you can damage it

That is true with power amps.
But, line level outputs can be summed to mono with a passive mixer. A "Y" cable is a passive mixer, too.

There are (2) 1/4" main outs. Does it default to the left as typical? -

Nope sorry ... 1. It's dangerous.. 2. a Y cable is not a passive mixer

Haven't tried it, but can you assign master mono and use just one XLR out, od does it only work with the 1/4 inch outs ?

I'm currently playing around with it now. And so far if I plug either one 1/4" or one xlr I still only get one side. Not sure what the difference is yet but as I said I'm just starting. I'm basically trying to get that summed out connection so the delay with two different patterns comes through....in progress.

Just plug a 1/4 in to the direct out and select Master Mono for it.

It appears that either connection produces the same result (1/4" or XLR). The master out gives the summed signal just as monitor out. I believe that is correct from what I'm hearing playing around with the settings. Confirm or deny if you feel otherwise?

The FOH is XLR so if either connection produces the same result I don't want an extra connection in the line (1/4" to XLR jumper instead of XLR direct to Kemper). XLR out to the FOH is direct and it appears that it produces the output sought after.

Of course it does.
When you select Master Mono for the main outputs that is, regardless if you use XLR or 1/4". -
I asked about the output signal being summed a long time ago in a post (months...) and got a knee jerk response with no clarification on using master mono to achieve the result. In many devices the 1/4" is usually summed but the XLR does not always get summed.....therefore unless the person responds with clarification in detail it cannot be assumed. There was a push to use 1/4"....I simply clarified.
-
Probably that was me, didn't wanted to be a jerk, sorry. I was assuming you wanted to keep the XLR free because you started the thread talking about Y cables. Prolly I misread the question
-
It was not you. You did push the 1/4" and like I mentioned many other devices sum the 1/4" but not the XLR. It's all good. BTW when I say knee jerk response that is not saying a person is being a jerk. It is refering to getting a quick response that is not clear or defined just an "off the cuff" response which doesn't really answer the question correctly....kind of like talking just to hear yourself speak. Again, not referring to this post, but this does happen a lot on this site and it would be nice for it to diminish. I went with the Y-cable initially because I was informed (incorrectly) early on (not in this post) that it (Kemper) did not sum the output and felt that was the only way to get it.
