FW 2.0 FC-300 Footswitch says "MIDI offline!"

I'm using the Roland FC-300 Footswitch for nearly 18 months with the KPA, which is a good combination. I have a custom made cable for it with MIDI in and Midi out plugs, so I have both jacks of the KPA (and of the FC-300) in use although I know, that KPA doesn't send MIDI out signals at the moment.

Since FW 2.0 I experience the following problem as well in Browse as in Performance Mode: Sometimes (not always) after stepping on a switch and therefore after sending something to the KPA the display of the FC-300 says "MIDI offline" although I think the signal arrives at the KPA and it changes what it should.

Anyway it's a little bit distracting and I'm not sure if I do anything wrong.

Has anyone an idea on the phenomenon?

Embarrassing, but it's as easy as that. Thanks for the hint. Seems as if the KPA starts working on the MIDI Out for the first time.
