I'd be happy with a better user interface with a nice touch screen or so ... not because it is absolutely neccessary but because I like shiny things with touchscreens

That's a great combination - I use the Helix with the KPA in on of its loops too -

Maybe the monitor volumes are too loud? I heard for studio monitors like the 305's it's best to keep them at max volume, which is what I do.
In terms of gainstaging it actually makes more sense to have the Kemper at a higher output volume and the monitors on a lower volume. But I guess it won't solve your problem.

To be honest ... I don't think the type of modeller is your problem ... as others mentioned: think about your monitoring - if it is the "amp in the room" feel you are missing ... just get a small power amp and use a guitar cab.

I have found I'm still gravitating towards the older MBritt profiles
Vintage Profiles always sound better, the modern stuff has way to little soul and mojo ...
! I like the newer ones better (and the Heritage Pack... if that counts as new) because of the brighter character

The Heritage Colonial pack!Can't agree more. I use this pack almost exlusively. I also have the original amp but stopped using it after I got the pack - to me it sounds better

I once did some IRs from free profiles, Kemper asked me to take them down, so I did ...

Also... did you dial in your patches at band volume?
If you dial them in at home and use them way louder with the band it will always have way too much treble.Try the free MBritt Rig Pack without changing anything.

The GPS1101 can load IRs with a special FW version ... that makes a huge impact on sound, sounds really good (not as good as the top tier modellers... but well... more than enough as a backup). Also nice that it's just 1 rackspace. Another option: Eleven Rack ... very cheap used, sounds decent!
@Jimmyno: Very happy with the combination, Helix LT sounds very transparent, have the KPA in one loop and the Source Audio Nemesis in the other loop. It's actually not thaaat much bigger then Remote + Expression Pedal. But I'm not a big fan of the remote so I might be biased ...

Axe-FX Standard maybe? Shouldn't be too expensive and still sounds very good. Or have a look on the gsp 1101. What's your budget?
OR: Helix LT.... yeah it's not rack mount but you could control the Kemper with it, also has some very nice effects
I use my Kemper in 4 cable method with the LT ... very happy. -

Bei vielen TAF profiles macht der EQ im X nichts anderes als das Profile lauter. Lauter klingt immer besser.

Ich würde gerne wissen, ob dieser Satz als Moderator mit Executivrechten oder als Musiker mit eigenen Emotionen geschrieben wurden? Als erster erscheint er mir auch nicht in Ordnung, da er eine subtil abwertende Wertung enthält..
Ich bin mir ziemlich sicher dass das mit einer Prise Ironie zu verstehen ist was Don schrieb und auf ein verbreitetes Phänomen anspielt (kost nix? kann nix sein!)

You can connect the Kemper to the helix via SPDIF with some small limitations.... it will sit in between Path 1 and Path 2. Change the Output of Path 1 to SPDIF and the Input of Path 2 to SPDIF as well.
Benefits: Lower latency and better sound quailty - in the analog loop there would be 2 conversions going on, with the high quality convertes on the helix the difference would be negligible.
