You could hold the SYSTEM button while powering on until message appears "Initializing....". This will reset all global settings including our owner name, but doesn't affect content. The unit will start with the welcome sequence. Simply switch it off at that time.

We don't trecommend using the MAIN OUTPUTS for any KEMPER Kone applications.

But even if you own a PowerHead or a Power Rack, model, you have the same line level outputs as Head and Rack models.

So instead of using the SPEAKER OUT, you can use the MONITOR OUT and DIRECT OUT with "Monitor Stereo" activated, and attach two unpowered KEMPER Kabinets.

By default, the PROFILER doesn't forward any MIDI comands and the Remote as such is just a remote control for the PROFILER and has no standalone MIDI functionality.

You can activate the capacity to send MIDI program changes whenever Slots get loaded in Performance Mode to one or two external devices. If you have set this up, it doesn't matter how you load these Slots (via Remote, front panel, analog switches, MIDI, ....). In addition you can also activate "Pedal to MIDI", which sends the four pedal controllers for Wah (cc#1), Pitch (cc#4), Volume (cc#7) and Morphing (cc#11) to those same external devices. That is what you seem to be using already.

If you activate UI to MIDI, a lot of parameters will be forwarded. It's basically all you need to make a second PROFILER follow a "master" PROFILER in Performance Mode including Slot loads, pedals, effect switches and parameters like gain. This might be way too much and confuse your external devices.

If your external effects unit is able to load presets via MIDI program changes it is possible to make the PROFILER send these but only when you load another Slot in Performance Mode.

All PROFILER units can run new operating system versions including our current 10.2.2 release.

Normally, you can update in one step. But if your current OS version is before 7.3.2 (check on last page of System Settings), you need to install that revision first.

You find that software plus instructions in a package available at the KEMPER download page at Older Software Versions.

So that is recommended in any case.

I'm afraid this might not fix your issue. Such a generic software issue did never exist. In that case please contact support here.

Head and Rack models currently support USB MIDI as clients only via a cable attached to their USB B socket. There is currently no plan to support sending MIDI clock from the USB client (PROFILER) to the USB host (PC). Our assumption is the DAW software controls the PROFILER. The PROFILER is ready to receive MIDI clock from the host.

Glad I found this, I reached out to support yesterday and got the same answer mentioned above. I had been going crazy trying to activate the 'switch on release' feature or whatever needed to turn on combo switching.

In the meantime, I purchased the $20 Hotone dual footswitch and it works perfectly! The extra 2 buttons make all the difference!

Be aware that this Hotone switch is monentary and normally closed. We didn't find this info in any Hotone specs, but in a customer review at a large online dealer. PROFILERs require momentary normally open switches.

Such wrong polarity explains strange behaviors:

If you just activate and deactivate effects, this doesn't happen, when you press the button, but when you release it. Perhaps that is acceptable for you.

If you assign Bank Up/Bank Down at a Player, you might notice, that this button works against the built in BANK button. If you step one bank up at the front panel, the Player steps immediately one bank down again, since the external button has normally closed contacts.

At Head and Rack models it would be unusable with functions like Looper Stat and Looper Stop. If you assign TAP, the Beat Scanner is active all the time, except while you press the button.

Bottom line, this switch is not a perfect companion for PROFILERs.

One word of caution regarding this Hotone switch:

The PROFILER requires momentary switches, which are normally open! That info can be found in our manuals. This Hotone switch seems to be normally closed. We found this out when we received support tickets reporting strange behaviors, which can be explained by switches with inverse polarity. We didn't find this information in any Hotone specifications, but found a customer review at one of the big online dealers, which highlights the fact, that the user found out that this switch is normally closed.

    The implications could be:

Switching effects on/off, doesn't happen, when you hit the button, but when you release it instead. Depending on how you work, you might not even notice this.

Functions like Looper Start and Looper Stop would be completely confused, since the timing of closing and opening the contacts is essential.

If you assign TAP at models with Beat Scanner, the Beat Scanner might be active all the time except while you hold the button.

With functions like Bank Up and Bank Down, the button might be competeing with the BANK button at the front panel. You could experience things like pressing the BANK button at the panel, the Player steps one BANK upwards and immediately one Bank down again, since the Hotone with normally closed contact gets interpreted like a normally open button being pressed.

Das könnte an einer globalen Einstellung liegen z. B. Output Source auf "DLY/REV Wet". Dann würde es aber nur bestimmte Ausgänge betreffen z. B. nie den HEADPHONE OUT.
