do you actually *have* a power-amp?
be sure to actually have the latest firmware on the stick (and not an old version), and try again with 'booting and burning' (hold < and > during power-up) -
yes: please contact support, this will help you get it fixed ASAP.
-
Maybe a noisy contrast pot? (was it the backlight flashing or was it the lcd content?)
-
except for the firmware (OS) itself
-
yep, the built-in poweramp module has it's own power supply (just like the aftermarket modules), so it's not powered from the main power supply. that's the cause for the different rating.
-
.....Still it really puzzles me why the voltages are written differently on the powered and the non powered Kempers.
Cheers.
because of (the specs of) the built-in power-amp module.
-
Voltage selection is done automatically, so you don't have to set a switch manually - no worries. The two ranges as spec'ed on the device are to unambiguously define these 2 voltage ranges and the device should not be operated outside these two!

@kpahuitsing : that's engineered at the edge. Ok Will introduce a poe injector in my rack
https://www.conrad.nl/nl/tp-li…?sc.queryFromSuggest=true 25 euro'sit's not *that* close to the edge actually but it's just better *not* to try to mess around and extend the cable passively. Inserting an injector like the one you mentioned will give you a much better solution, and you can even use longer cables or in-between connectors that way.
-
The ethernet cable that came supplied with the remote was carefully selected to operate correctly. The cable can't really be extended passively (i.e. without additional power-injection), because the cable is at it's max. length already.
So Kees: The correct way of extending the cable, even by "10 cm", is by inserting a PoE switch / injector in-between.
MarkD: what is the software version you're using?
-
contact support. it looks like an internal cable has loosened during transport

When you first connect the Remote, make sure the KPA is turned off. Then, boot up and be patient. The first time you boot them together, there are long pauses as the firmware in the Remote is updating. If you get impatient, and interrupt the FW update (it's going on in the background), it will potentially really mess up the Remote. I have had zero problems.
the firmware in the remote never will be messed up when the update procedure is interrupted: it's buffered completely, validated and only written if everything is OK. This has been tested very, very extensively. so: no worries here, but indeed be patient to wait for the complete update...

yep.. please update to the latest release firmware with the 'boot and burn' method as described by Ingolf. This should cure the problem.
-
The last version 3.0.2.10951B

hmm.. OK.. so it is reproduceable then? looks like a software bug.
-
My remote reboot while change the values of brightness, contrast and white LED level from kemper.
Regards
which software version are you using?
-
what software version is it?
(oops trying to quote on my mobile phone..)
-
- LED intensity set to low value in the profiler itself? (check the settings) ?
- really used the original ethernet cable? (directly connected?) -
Hi Dorrus,
I tried your solution with a simple electronic contact-cleaner (that does wonder to old glitchy pots and other stuff...)...no success :o(. Guess I will have to send it for a repair. Waiting for an update with Kemper about how to ship it.
please please please: don't use contact-cleaner on the USB port (or even better: don't *ever* use contact cleaner.. period: it's evil!)
most problems people have had with USB sticks, have been solved by using another stick: so please use another stick and try again.

OK. but what exactly are the colors? what I'd like to know is how exactly the potmeter is connected to the jack of the remote (for example: tip=slider, sleeve=resistor track begin, shield=resistor track end) ? furthermore I'm not sure what the influence is of the legacy electronics still connected inside the pedal. 100k should work fine by the way.

A custom made from a Dunlop Wah
how is it internally connected (tip=?, ring=?, sleeve=?) and what is the resistance?
