You could do this by recording the pure guitar and reamp later through 2 slightly different rigs

The biggest thing with this pack is that the aim is for recorded tones; almost like a "modern metal producer" pack. The focus would be Sneap/Richardson/Fredman/Suecof/Lewis tones; IMHO, the VHT's, DAR, ENGLs save the S120, and Bogner don't fit that. I'm asking for the 5150 again because while the 6505 profile is great, the midrange is a fair bit different from the 5150+MesaOS+57 combo I know and love.
i would buy that in a second!!!

those are nrear-field studio-monitors, so they are built for homestudio-use where they are placed not more than a meter (rather less) from you
so no, nothing for a band rehearsal imho
sound quality for home-studio use is ok, given the price

if the peaks are really -2dbfs than it might be that your drums are already compressed, whereras the guitar ist very dynamic?!?

Updated without problems.

Would you really be faster with writing with scrolling through the letters?
faster than with favourites or the alphabetical jumplist (pressing the up or down Button lets you jump from A to B to C....) -
-
also, i can recommend and44s bogner ueberschall profiles ... cost a bit but are very worth the money!
-
häussel are very cool...
but, i have to defend the emg a little bit ...the newer 81x and 60x are really really good, not as agressive as the original ones and more dynamic.
furthermore: the 60x in the neck position delivers a very warm sounding jazzy-kind of tone -
i dont hear any latency , but the kemper is meant to simulate a miked amp and cabinet , then we listen through either studio monitors or headphones , so imagine you are recording in a studio and your amp is miked up blasting away in another room and you are in the control room with your guitar and a long cable playing , how much latency is there then?
not much, cable lenght plays no role as electricity travels with the speed of light
only thing relevant are any ad/da conversions and the distance between amp and mic and speaker and listener -
sounds good.
the only important thing is that you turn on your power-amp last and your turn it of first. so no turn-on-pulse (for example the kemper produces some "clckkkhhh" when tuned off) can be amplified and damage your speakers

+1, especially the slave-modus...

same with me (no favourites) with normal update

no, no need to.
the di box would only be of help if you connect the guitar directly into your soundcard-input for recording the pure guitar signal (but with the kemper you can do this now without a di)
-
send the .wav out of a spare output of your soundcard to the input of the kemper, send the masterout of the kemper to one or two inputs of your soundcard. and listen via your monitors connected to 2 outputs of your soundcard.
but, as their might be problems with impedance-matching between the soundcard output to the guitarinput on the kemper you might need a reamping box...but ihose are notcheap as well so it might be better to look around for a soundcard with spdif

Check if there are eqs in the Slots with Volume slightly turned up.
Bought some profiles from and44 yesterday and also had clipping when struming hard. Had to turn down Volume of the otherwise flat eqs and gate to 0 (from around +1.5) -

hi there!
i was testing which of my favourite profiles suite my band best by recording some riffs...
no full song, just some riff-ideas we art playing around with.
drums are programmed (addictive drums with metal add-on)
guitar is a ibanez mmm1 baritone tuned to A standard with EMG81x on the bridge postition
i forgot about how easy it is to record a clean signal and reamp later, so each riff was played extra with each amp

Does anyone know if the spdif clicking issue has been solved in this version?
i had some issues (but only with some rigs) and for me they are gone so far, but only have 1.5 for 2 hours now
